Neglect is modest.
It doesn't scream. It lacks the fight. It just holds attention until something once alive starts to die.
One morning you do not wake up and lose a dream. You ignore it. You bypass one attempt. Then still another. You assure yourself you will be back once life slows down. Weeks pass. The flames subside. What used to thrill you now feels strange, almost alien. It continues to adapt to disrespect until it needs louder attention one day. When you satisfy everyone else by silencing your own needs. When you decline rest since you believe weariness validates commitment. When you dismiss your mental health since you think strength equals quiet. That not strength is the situation. Slow self abandonment is what that is.
Here is the reality. Strong roots also dry out without it.
So investigate carefully your life. What slowly vanishing? Which meals have you ceased giving?
Though neglect is minor, its effects are pronounced. Pay attention right away before upkeep turns more difficult than repair.
