How I missed those days when we could just go anywhere without any worries. When we could breathe in air freely, not through masks, and not wonder if the air is okay.
I missed the days when I could go swim anytime between 7AM until 10PM, when the pool was opened for business. I missed the days when I would monitor the pool from my place and the moment I saw rays of sun hitting the pool, I would excitedly change into my swimming gear. I would rush to the pool, hoping nobody would join me and that the pool would be all mine. All mine.
Back then, when I hit the water and worked my strokes, I could feel the sun rays kissing my skin, giving them a nice tan and sometimes a lovely glow after a good swim. Sometimes, when I had more time at hand, I would hang out by the pool side and close my eyes as I faced the sun.
How I missed those days. I still watch the pool but with the lockdowns still going on, there was no way I could swim for now. All I could do was just watch the rays of sun hitting the pool and yearn for those days to come back.
