As the grandfather clock on the wall by my side struck 10:00AM and started chiming, I was scanning through my emails on my laptop screen with the coffee mug just next to my keyboard. I took a sip of my coffee and shifted my view to a soft turquoise coloured digital clock slightly to the left of my view, next to the television, showing 10:00AM. It is a cute clock. I love the colour, the main reason why we bought it.
My view quickly moved down to the first shelf of the Ikea display shelves where the clock was placed. There was a big off white sea shell, a legacy from the elderly, and some musical instruments - a slim flute, a tiny hand drum and some unique looking string instrument from Korea. A beautiful hand fan from China was spread behind the instruments.
My sight was suddenly drawn to the television, to a live streaming of the world news before I was automatically brought back to my laptop screen, showing 10:01AM. How time flies.
