...If a person is lucky, he won't ever need the services of a surgeon. This specialized physician operates on one's body for various illnesses. I have not been so lucky, as I had surgery to repair my knee. Locating an excellent surgeon takes time and patience to find something you can trust with your body to truthfully explain the risks of any procedure. I share a micro story related to the prompt "surgeon" that is in the format of a ZAPFIC100. This type story format is told in exactly 100 words and was created by @felt.buzz.
For my theme, I was inspired by and utilized the @daily.prompt's publishing of @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2035. Prompt: surgeon.
Below is my story:
With each month that passed, the stabbing pain worsened with every movement. Hector couldn't wait much longer.
The ride home felt numb as he attempted to recall his appointment.
His headache intensified as he shifted sides.
Although he shook his head acknowledging that he understood, his physician's explanations for his intense back pain didn't register. The foreign words describing the different regions of the lower back were exasperating.
That is, until he remembered staring up at the wall-mounted x-ray viewer.
The cartilage had worn down completely.
Hector pulled out the referral for a well-known back surgeon and placed the call.

Si una persona tiene suerte, nunca necesitará los servicios de un cirujano. Este médico especializado opera el cuerpo de uno para diversas enfermedades. Yo no he tenido tanta suerte, ya que me operaron para repararme la rodilla. Cada mes que pasaba, el dolor punzante empeoraba con cada movimiento. Héctor no podía esperar mucho más.
