Drabble: A 100 word story written using the word prompt "in custody".
...When we think of something or someone being "in custody", we immediately envision that of wrongdoing. My heart is heavy for the mistreatment of humans. But for animals, there are no words to express those who participate in the unnecessary slaughtering of animals for profit's sake. These actions may lead to possible extinction of a species. I leave here my ZAPFIC100 story told in exactly 100 words. The format was created by @felt.buzz.
For my theme, I was inspired by the @daily.prompt's publishing of @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2057: in custody.
Below is my story:
Randy made small talk, then yawned. "Think I'll turn in for the night. We've had a good day. Sorry, I wasn't much help this trip." He pointed to his arm cast.
"Good? You underestimate. I'd say, incredible," the leader boasted. Can't wait to deliver this haul. My new buyer is offering a ridiculous amount for his foreign collector."
Randy turned and signaled the authorities. "Poachers in custody."
He stopped the arm cast's recorder camera.
"Nice work, Ranger. The perpetrators will be prosecuted."
Heartbroken, Randy walked toward the partially-buried carcasses and dropped to his knees.
He caressed the horns, then wept.

Randy charló un poco y luego bostezó. "Creo que me acostaré esta noche. Hemos tenido un buen día. Lo siento, no he sido de mucha ayuda en este viaje". Señaló la escayola de su brazo.
