Drabble: A 100 word story written using the word prompt "reinforce".
...To make something stronger. It can be physical or mental. When re reinforce something, we're securing it for protection. We can also reinforce the family thereby making it a tighter knit unit. The word "reinforce" can apply to many situations. The key is that the words means to strengthen. However, just as the word is mean for good, it can be misapplied and used for evil. I share a micro story relating to the prompt in the format of a ZAPFIC 100 story. The format was created by @felt.buzz.
For my theme, I was inspired by and utilized the @daily.prompt's publishing of @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2030. Prompt: reinforce.
Below is my story:
Month's end. Time was set aside for repairs and preparation for winter supplies.
A flurry of activity planned promised to keep all busy.
Mom, with help from her daughter and family would can fruits and vegetables.
Dad, with son Phillip's help, would secure their animals.
Uninterested in farm work, Phillip whined and pouted until workday..
"We'll add another layer of fencing around the pens."
"Seems like extra work. Looks fine to me."
"The extra layer is to reinforce the fence from predators."
Later that night, the family woke to a predator attack.
Phillips saw first hand the need to reinforce
