A goblin is a small, grotesque, monstrous creature that appears in the folklore of multiple European cultures. First attested in stories from the Middle Ages, they are ascribed conflicting abilities, temperaments, and appearances depending on the story and country of origin, ranging from mischievous household spirits to malicious, bestial thieves. They often have magical abilities similar to a fairy or demon, such as the ability to shapeshift.link.

The first time I saw a goblin in the movies was in a Harry Potter series, and they have good ability. I don't think goblins are real, I have not heard of a goblin in the real world.

Goblins, however have their own advantages and they provide help when needed, as I have seen in the movies.

All my experience about a goblin cannot be far fetched from a movie since that is where they are mostly portrayed.

With the meaning of a goblin, described as a monstrous creature, I think the goblin need no protect, rather it should offer protection.
