What a fascinating, short story! I love Nicola's uncle. Every young lady deserves a down-to-earth and pragmatic man like him. Some other bride without such a support would have given in to depression or possibly gone ahead with the wedding despite the obvious 'crack in the wall'.

When a happy occasion turns sore or an expectation is shattered, it's best to see the good in it and celebrate, if a person can. Life's too short to worry!

Yes, look for the good in all situations. A temporary setback in her marriage prospects, but who knows whether her soulmate is waiting after the party! Support in all difficult situations is a Godsend. If you have it, take hold and rejoice.

Sometimes the old adage that "love is blind" can only take one so far. The blinders have to come off at some point. Hopefully, the situation one is in is not too late to rectify the situation.

I totally agree with all the above! For some, the blinders come off after the knot has been tied and retreating become almost impossible or with damaging effects. Thanks for sharing. 💕
