Recently, I was thinking I'd create a mixed media art project that reflects my version of man transformed as an alien. I didn't think of the origins of the transformation or the consequences once changed.
The planet would become a beautiful playground for this warped alien who does not know how to handle it's new form.
To create the scene, I designed two awesome pure fractals in Apophysis 7X, the upgraded fractal rendering program.
The first fractal titled, "Menagerie", is full of color. I utilized this one for the background of my scene. Although rendered on a transparent background, I knew the image would be fitting name for the scene as it shined brightly on a black background. Also, the design formed a circle in the middle. This was perfect for inserting an image inside. You can see its full glory below in my process.
The flower pure fractal I titled "Cornstalk in Blue and Green". The various colors surrounding the fractal were part of the image. A nice surprise. What I discovered was that, according to what type of background color I chose, the fractal colors would either appear or blend into the shadows. In this instance, the shades of colors were overshadowed by the dark image of the first fractal.
To complement my fractal "Menagerie", I wanted an alien to pose in the center. At that point, I didn't have any specific preference for the type of alien. I did decide to use the following description in developing the stable diffusion image with StarryAI.
Below are my steps:
StarryAI Text input:
"How a two headed man transformed into an ethereal alien."
Style: Argo
Runtime: 50
Seed: 1672089179
StarryAI Result:
Turned out a bit scary as a see-through the body alien. Looks like a mushy intestinal tract.
To blend the three elements, I utilized Canva as my design program. This allowed me to access the upgraded features such as background removal, colorizing, and filter applications in my Annual Pro Membership Subscription.
Below is my process. I began with a blank canvas. To this, I added the "Menagerie" fractal. It didn't look like the image I knew it could, so I switched to a black background. There you can see how the various colors come through. Also, the circle that would serve as a frame is now clearly defined.
All I needed to complete my alien image was to add the stable diffusion image, then remove its background to fit behind the fractal frame.
Finally, I added the second fractal to represent the beauty of the world surrounding the alien.
I feel the project turned out nicely. A good contrast.
Below is my completed project:
Thanks for taking the time to view my post. I hope you like my mixed media art project.
