In response to the Alien Art Hive Community's Inktober Prompts that were part of their Cosmic Creations Edition #6 Contest, Cosmic Creations Edition #6 is LIVE: INKTOBER PROMPTS, members were encouraged to choose a prompt theme from the Inktober Prompts list for their entry into the contest.
After my entry into the contest with Prompt #17 - DEMON which I published on 9/23, I decided to take the Inktober concept one step further. I will focus on the remaining 30 Prompts on the list, beginning with Prompt #1. How fun the themes will be preparing my projects utilizing the mixed media art themes. If a Drabble story (100 words) or other flash fiction emerges, then all the more fun!
Below is my project for Inktober Prompt #5:
"Welcome aboard all to Dreemsicle Flight 949. Departure is scheduled at 23:55 UTC. Approximately fifteen minutes. Please feel free to move around the cabin, meet and greet other vacationers from nearby planets, and acquaint yourselves with our numerous amenities, including non-alcoholic cocktails. I recommend the off-planet coolie marquerita. Your host and hostess for the duration of the trip are Aurorite; flight captain, and Umalgy, who will service as your flight attendant."
In the backdrop of Earth's landing platform, Umalgy extended his tentacles in a cordial gesture.
Passengers began to board under cloudy skies. Seeking relief from the scorching temperatures, excited vacationers pressed forward in an orderly fashion.
Once inside, circular windows along the path guided humans toward the cruise craft's second deck. Non-humans, including exotic animals, were escorted to a secluded section in the lower deck.
All safely aboard, Captain Aurorite signaled Umalgy to secure passengers inside their compartments.
Crimson flames shot up into the atmosphere and thrust the spacecraft toward its initial destination.
Tugging at his mother's air stabilizer tube, Denzler pointed. "Look! our flight captain's image is featured on the brochure. Her background is extensive.
Within minutes, Umalgy's eight arms finished serving passengers and returned to his Captain's cabin.
Denzler perused the brochure. There on page eight lay a map of the route through the planets their two-week tour would travel.
Denzler's mother pointed to the overhead dashboard. "No need for brochures. Our destinations are tracked in real time."
He sat back in his lounger, placed his earphones over his ears and mapped the route of their tour, noting names of historical settlements and sightseeing destinations on each planet capable of sustaining human life.
His eyes widened and a smile erupted as the darkened view of Earth moving father away from his window fired his imagination more than the many assortment of travel books on his bookshelf.
"Don't gaze back. Look ahead," his mother instructed, pointing to the overhead console.
The vacation of a life-time. Denzler sat transfixed, marveling at what was to come. Already planning his return, he was certain, in his mind, to win show and tell day at their educational campus.
*For my current Inktober Prompt #5, dealing with "MAP", I envisioned a young boy and his mother taking a vacation off planet in a spaceship, the Dreemsicle. I recently designed three pure fractals I felt would be perfect for this project.
The first orange fractal would be transformed into the spaceship. The second orange fractal would serve as the thrusters. The third blue fractal would serve as the spaceship door entryway.
For the captain and flight attendance, I decided to utilize StarryAI to create two aliens commanding the tour ship. Both stable diffusion images were produced with one description.
Below are my steps:
StarryAI Text Input:
"Turning into a green female monster spider with tentacles flowing after being bitten by a large green spider."
Style: Fantasy
Runtime: 50
Seed: 6047051502
StarryAI Results:
For the Map, I again utilized StarryAI to produce this stable diffusion image. My idea was that the Map would serve as the passengers guide to their off-planet vacation.
StarryAI Text Input:
"Detailed fantasy map toward destination out space to another universe."
Style: Fantasy
Runtime: 50
Seed: 3453619148
StarryAI Result:
To blend the images, I again utilized Canva as my design program. The tools afforded me in my upgraded Pro Membership Subscription allows for background removal from images, filtering, colorizing, resizing, and repositioning.
Below are my procedures from left to right:
Started with a blank, white canvas.
Added orange circle fractal.
Added small tentacled alien diffusion image.
Added Map diffusion image.
Switched to black canvas.
Duplicated orange circle fractal. Resized.
Added large diffusion alien image.
Added spaceship fractal.
Below are my two completed projects:
