In response to the Alien Art Hive Community's Inktober Prompts that were part of their Cosmic Creations Edition #6 Contest, Cosmic Creations Edition #6 is LIVE: INKTOBER PROMPTS, members were encouraged to choose a prompt theme from the Inktober Prompts list for their entry into the contest.
After my entry into the contest with Prompt #17 - DEMON which I published on 9/23, I decided to take the Inktober concept one step further. I will focus on the remaining 30 Prompts on the list, beginning with Prompt #1. How fun the themes will be preparing my projects utilizing the mixed media art themes. If a Drabble story (100 words) or other flash fiction emerges, then all the more fun!
Below if my project for Inktober Prompt #14:
In my approach to Inktober Prompt #14, My inspiration came from the popular cable series drama, "Game of Thrones". In my version, I envisioned a throne in a castle. Not a majestic one, but a lonely one without a leader. The theme would entail a dark and shadowy figure staring out through the throne. The throne room exists as a dreary place filled with the stench of death and descension into fire to all who vied for it. Some candidates died mysteriously. Some met a calculated fate. Others were publicly admonished for desiring to aspire to the throne. Then some hopefuls simple withdrew their claims for fear they may fall victim to the "Castle's Game of Loneliness."
To accomplish my vision of a throne room, I drew upon the image I retrieved from the stable diffusion program I was introduced to last year in the Alien Art Hive Discord, MidJourney. Instead of blades protruding from the throne, I requested tentacles flowing in all directions. I was not disappointed with the result of my text description input.
Below are my steps:
Midjourney Text input:
"Medusa seated upon a mountaintop Iron Throne that contain tentacles instead of blades."
Midjourney Result:
Other images I included were (i) three pure fractals I placed at the bottom of the throne to represent the fire and uncertainty that I created in Apophysis 7X, an advanced version of the fractal rendering program; (ii) a dark-gray toned skeleton; and (iii) black birds flying through the castle as if warning of impending danger; and (iv) a dramatic and mysterious person with large eyes representing loneliness as I embedded the face at the bottom of the throne.
(3) Fractals:
To blend my images, I uploaded all into Canva, my design program. Below are my procedures from left to right.
Started with blank, white canvas.
Added diffusion throne image w/2 columns.
Added skeleton image.
Added chocolate colored face.
Added black bird. Duplicated them.
Added red and other flowers.
Switched color of canvas to black.
Duplicated throne to fill in canvas.
Removed background; duplicated skeleton.
Removed face background. Embed in throne.
Added additional flowers at bottom.
Duplicated flowers and completed scene.
