The New HAIKYUU!! One-Shot Special is Making Me Miss the Anime More... [SPOILERS] T_T

in The Anime Realm2 years ago

Yesterday, the official Shonen JUMP app released Haikyuu!!'s special one-shot manga for their 10th anniversary. Well, I was aware of it a few days back because a lot of Haikyuu!! pages I follow online has released some spoilers or leaks everywhere on the Internet. Despite having read these spoilers and even fan translations and stuff, I still had to read it in the official site over and over and over again. I just can't get over it and it made me miss Haikyuu!!! even more.

I'm a huge Haikyuu!! fan and I've watched all four seasons 8 times now, but I'm seriously planning on watching it for the 9th time... and hopefully the 10th time before the fifth season is released. I still don't know when, but hopefully soon.

Anyway, let's get back to the main topic.

The photos I'll be sharing here are screenshots from SHONEN JUMP app.

KUROO is FINE AF!!!!

Basically, the one-shot manga is about Kuroo trying to invite popular volleyball players from all over the world for a special event in order to promote volleyball even more in the country.

For those who knows him, it's quite natural that he's a "con-artist". lol He's so smooth and great with his words that it didn't take him too long to invite all these amazing athletes back to Japan for a special event.

There was a part in this manga when Kuroo called Sawamura (Karasuno's captain). He was together with Sugawara and it's really nice to see how close they still are even after the timeskip. They're even eating together and joking around with each other. A bit of a spoiler, Kuroo was asking for Asahi and Yacchan's number in the following panel. I suppose, he'd hire them to design the uniform (since Asahi is a fashion designer now) and the posters (since Yacchan is a design company intern).

It's just so fun and interesting to know that despite the years, they still keep in touch and ask favors from each other. <3 Ahhh~ I love HAIKYUU!!!

When I first saw the spoilers on Facebook, this part really got me. I was really laughing so hard. I even posted on my account...

The leaks were in Japanese and there was a part when Iwaizumi was trying to get in between these two. Iwa-chan said in the manga, "大丈夫だよな~ 大人だもんな~!" (Daijoubu dayo na~ Otona damon na) which translates to, "It's fine right since we're all adults here."

And so, I commented, "二人はいつも子供だよ~!!!大人が見えませんよ~!" (Futari wa itsumo kodomo dayo! Otona ga miemasen yo) which translates to, Those two will always be kids. I don't see any adults here.

Even in the past (when they were in high school), Atsumu and Oikawa are really childish and petty. I suppose this was actually their first interaction... and the reason for this is that they're both setters and were placed in the same team. hahaha

The lineup is truly phenomenal! I would love to see them play. Hopefully, one of these days Furudate-sensei will show us these awesom games, particularly JAPAN vs ARGENTINA and this game mentioned in the special one-shot.

I'm truly delighted to see a lot of familiar faces from their high school years as well as the MSBY Jackals vs Schweiden Adlers match.

However, as the manga always tells us... it's not about winning or losing, but the experience we gained along the way. <3

But really, as a fan of Kuroo, I'm so proud of him for preparing this lineup and event for everyone. Despite the fact that he's no longer in the limelight and didn't pursue being an athlete, I could still say that he's madly in love with volleyball... and it made me fall for him even more!

I'm just so happy to read this one-shot and hopefully, we'd finally get to watch the Karasuno VS Nekoma match in season 5 soon.

I'll end this post here... if you still haven't, please read this special one-shot manga on Shonen JUMP app. Have a great day!!!! (^^,)/
