What's up otaku(s)?!
Are you familiar with Katekyo Hitman Reborn? It's actually an anime revolving around the life of Tsunayoshi Sawada who is a "loser-type" middle schooler. His life turned around when he met Reborn -- a hitman and is a baby -- who is his tutor. Well, being his tutor was just a facade, but he's actually training Tsuna to become the ninth boss of the Vongola Family.
I actually haven't watched the anime version, but I did love the manga when I read it more than ten years ago. It was among my favorites. One of the characters, Hibari Kyoya, was my ultimate bias ever since I read the manga. I still love Hibari until now. Which then leads us to my story today. :)
As I've mentioned in the title above, I created a fanart of Squabi Squalo who is also a character in Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
Don't mind my masked face. haha I actually created this for a Japanese student who later on became a good friend of mine. We both like Katekyo Hitman Reborn and we often talk about it in class. As we talked more and got to know ourselves better, we discovered that we are also both into drawing. And so, we promised to show each other our artworks the next time we have our lesson.
The next time we did, she surprised me with this. <3
It's her fanart of Hibari which she presented to me. I was so happy to receive it, so I promised her that I'm going to make a Squalo fanart for her, too! Thus, I'm sharing it here now.
Of course, I started with a pencil sketch. :) I actually thought of making a digital drawing for her, but I haven't practiced in a long time, so it would take me ages to finish it. I also didn't have enough time, so I decided to just make a marker plus colored pencil type of artwork. :)
I was quite in a hurry since I didn't have a lot of time, but I still tried and made it as decent as possible. Someday, I'll just sit down and paint again without any time constraint. Well, after cleaning the lineart, I proceeded with the coloring. :)
After completing it, I wrote a short message for her. I hope she likes it. :) I believe this is my first time drawing another Katekyo Hitman Reborn character aside from Hibari. I used to draw Hibari a lot in the past. haha I have a colored pencil artwork, painting and even a digital fanart of him. lol I should paint him again one of these days. I want more free time~!!!
