I Painted Roronoa Zoro of One Piece <3 + A Bit of Drama Today.. lol

in The Anime Realm3 years ago

Heya Otaku(s)~!!!
I just finished my anime-watching with my mama. Yes, we just finished and it's already 2AM now. hahaha

We are currently watching Eyeshield 21. It's my second time watching it, but mama is into sports anime these days, so I'm rewatching several sports anime with her. She's so funny because she keeps on watching one more episode especially when the games are getting more and more excited. I must say, I'm proud of her. hahaha xD

Anyway, earlier today, I got the chance to paint one of my favorite anime characters. I changed it multiple times and several stuff happened while I was making it, but in the end, I was able to somehow create Roronoa Zoro in my style. Let's talk more about it as I show you the process in a bit. :)

Have you noticed when I paint some characters, they look a bit feminine?? haha Maybe because I'm more into pretty boys than the masculine ones... but oh well... I'll try to make manlier artworks in my style next time... For now let me show you the process.

Preparation time! This part is quite frustrating because my watercolor pad isn't very friendly with the masking tape. And in addition, the masking tape is too thick, so I had to adjust at least the outer sides. I want to have more space to paint on. I don't really like this watercolor pad, but papa bought two of them, so I should at least use it... Anyway, it's for practice and I can still enjoy painting, regardless. :)

I initially tried making a draft, but then, it was kind of useless because I decided to color the background first. hahaha WHat am I doing with my life? XD

I made another draft sketch on the background and started painting the base color.

It was actually looking good, even though the skin tone is so much darker than the original... however, when the paint dried, it became even darker... and suddenly, mama asked me to do some errand which is actually not that important. She wanted me to scan some document for my aunt... I reluctantly followed her.

I don't really want stopping in the middle of doing something, especially when I'm writing or painting. My concentration gets lost, and I also lose all motivation... so I got grumpy. To add up to my frustration, my PC acted up, so I had to fix it first... and when she gave me the document to scan, it was in a long-sized bondpaper which is not compatible with my scanner. It only scans A4 and short size... Yes, it's an older scanner/printer.

Ahhhh~!!! I was so annoyed because I stopped my painting for nothing... and because of my frustration, I did this.

YES!!! I'm one crazy bitch! hahaha Well, I didn't say anything to my mama... I didn't want us to quarrel and it would just ruin my mood even more... so poor Zoro. I am so sorry... T_T

As you can see, I also transferred to my room, so I'm using my small table which is not very stable and good for painting. I usually paint in the kitchen table because there's more space. I sometimes hate myself. I'm usually patient, but today, I just lost it. I even almost forgot about my Saturday class. Good thing, I remembered it 30 minutes before the time, so I hurriedly had my dinner before preparing for it.

After my class, I continued with the painting. I was feeling a bit relaxed and better after talking with my student for more than an hour. But unfortunately, my drive to paint wasn't as good as when I started in the afternoon. T_T Anyway, let's just continue.

At this point, I was like "SCREW IT~!!!" I didn't know what I was doing anymore and it would be a waste to give up this painting completely, so I decided to make Zoro a "bishounen" (a pretty guy), instead of an "ikemen" (a cool/handsome guy).

And this, my friends, is how my Roronoa Zoro fanart ended. XD

To be honest, I actually like the first one better despite the darker skin tone, but well, this isn't that bad, isn't it? I'll just make another Zoro painting in the future, and hopefully, there wouldn't be any drama just like today. I'll control myself more and try not to lose motivation even if my painting time is interrupted.

The day ended well, though. I was able to enjoy watching anime with mama until a while ago. It's time to head to bed now, but I guess, I'll play some games or read some manga first before sleeping. I hope you still enjoy my version of Zoro. :) I'll make it better with a more positive mind next time! (^_^)
