Back to Work in The Yard
I posted about my garden beds yesterday, well today I got busy and got them filled. I had planned on buying some dirt, but decided to check on my compost piles (mostly oak leaves and grass clippings).
I didn't think they would be ready, and a good bit wasn't. But I filled the bottoms of the bed with some of the less composted compost, and used the best dirt to fill the last 5 inches. It might be a little too hot this year, but it will make for some good dirt next year.
I will add grass clippings as much this summer and then mix it in next spring. The grass clippings will smother the weeds and add organic matter.
Gas Lines
There was a hack on a gasoline pipeline that shut off gas to much of the North East of America. Here in North Carolina it got pretty bad primarily due to people hording gas. I haven't bought a gallon since the whole nonsense started.
But today it did stop me from going to go work at my daughters house. I got in the truck to head over and it was on E, and I said, “Nope. It can wait.”
