hi hiveans, I'd like to share some important things about school and the factors affecting or hindering proper learning in our rural communities.
let me start by defining the term "school" in a short sentence.
A school is an educational institution designed for teaching and also learning purpose of either students or pupils. and of course we have three(3) stages of learning in educational settings which are ;
- primary
- secondary
- tertiary
I believe primary is the basic and the most important stage in learning. it helps build strong foundation for any child. I'd say without primary stage, a child would surely find it difficult to attain the next level of his/her education. so the primary stage is an important key to learning.
now the benefits and importance of school includes;
opportunities to be a great and learned person ; going to school is a major step in becoming a successful person in life, it ignites you to the top and connects you to great people all over the world. I use to say this that ignorance is a disease, so becoming a learned person by going to school will help build up one's knowledge to alot of things.
poverty reduction;
this is an important reason why school is very essential in our various communities, in order to help eradicate poverty in our local communities. going to school would help you getting a better job in the future or either way, give ideas on how to be a business tycoon in the future. lack of educational knowledge is automatically the root of poverty.employment opportunities;
being educated gives a good chance of employment in labour market. it also serves as an opportunities of becoming a successful.skill acquisition
it helps build all kinds of skill to help one in the future. skills like, art and design, crafting, sportsman, catering skills and learning skills.reduces crime rate
this is one of the most important reason why school and education is good because it reduces the weight of crime rate in our societies around the world. getting educated gives the knowledge to know the major difference between the right and wrong.
as we have the importance of school and its benefits, so also we do have the factors hindering and affecting learning. and of course this sometimes causes a students or pupils to drop out of school. the factors are;
bad environmental area
a bad environment can stop a process of learning, i.e not having a good and proper place to stay in course of learning.hunger and poverty
not having a good meal before learning can hinder it as well. I'm sure the focus to learn won't be available. so eating a good food is very essential.threat
it can come as bullying a student, teacher's threats to a student or any form of social violence can also disturb the process of learning.sickness and diseases
having a serious and unwanted sickness can hinder learning. it can be any form or sickness or diseases.bad infrastructure
one of the major factor I'd like to address or talk about is improper and bad infrastructure. I was literally affected by this in my secondary stage of education i.e when I was in high school, The infrastructure was so bad that we couldn't learn properly and it affected so many students then. having this is not good for learning.
It's a great privilege to share my thoughts on education. Education is still the best legacy.
