Clumps of Mushrooms in the early morning for Fungi Friday

Flash On

I'm sure there's a reason why mushrooms grow in little clumps together in certain places but I'm not sure why that is. Maybe one of his smart people reading this might be able to shed some light on it and let me know the reason behind it!

Below you'll see a couple of examples of photos of these clumps of mushrooms captured in the early morning winter air here in Ireland. I captured these ones with the flash on as the sun wasn't quite out yet.

Flash Off

As you'll see from the photos that follow I took a few snaps with the flash off as well. I think it's fair to say that the ones with the flash on came out much better even though when I took them I thought they were much too bright. They definitely look better than the ones with the flash off but I guess it's to do with the lighting at that time. It was still quite dark.

Now let's take a little zoom out shall we and see where these little mushrooms ended up finding a little home for themselves. That's right there were nestled underneath this tree.

Something I've noticed is that they tend to grow back around the same place every year. Does that mean that the roots stay alive beneath the soil and they just sprout the mushrooms at certain times of the year or do they die off entirely and new ones pop up randomly each year?

For first time readers who are wondering what Fungi Friday is, I'll say this, we've got Three Tune Tuesdays for the musically inclined. We have Beer Saturday for those who like a brew on Saturday night after a tough weeks work. Then there are Fridays, another favourite day of mine and Fridays mean Fungi Friday.

It's getting to the time of year when I'm seeing loads of mushrooms on the golf course and elsewhere, they seem to thrive at this time of year when it is damp and not too cold yet. If you're in Ireland or the UK, there should be loads of mushrooms dotted around the countryside. If you roam golf courses like these like I do, you may well come across some.

I've gotta say, I do class myself as lucky to play and love the game of golf. Not only is it fun to compete but you get to walk around beautiful green Parklands with lots of different flora and fauna sprinkled about for the senses to appreciate weekly.

As I say every week, there'll be a few of you who have no idea what Fungi Friday is, so let me set the scene for ye.

Fungi Friday

First things first, have a read of @ewkaw's weekly Friday post to hear all about it and get snapping the next time that you see mushrooms in the wild.

My golf course is great for mad looking mushrooms and it is in fact soon going to be that time of year when these guys start sprouting up around the golf course again and I always like sharing these photos as they're pretty cool if I may say so myself.

These photos are all my own taken on my Samsung smartphone

Thanks as always for stopping by everyone.

Peace Out

Thank you very much for letting us know these beautiful photographs.
have a beautiful night

Thanks @jlufer appreciate the support and comment. It will soon start getting harder to find mushrooms I reckon, as the colder weather sets in
