Garden Update: We Re-planted Some Sprouts a Week After Planting the Seeds <3

It's been a week since we planted the seeds we bought online. If you haven't checked my previous post, feel free to check it out HERE.

Last weekend, we planted some seeds of various vegetables like lettuce, eggplant, chili, okra, tomato, and so on. Since then, some sprouts already started growing and it has been a pleasure for me to check their progress every morning before I start with my classes.

Majority of them have already sprouted, but two particular plants grew faster than the others. They are the bonsai okra and iceberg lettuce. So, in order for them to have more room to grow, we replanted them in separate plastic bags first and once they've finally and properly root, we're going to replant them in pots and in the community's common garden.

On the left is the iceberg lettuce, and on the other side is the bonsai okra. You can also see the plastic bags (which mama kept for years... we used to use them in repacking some products in our store) Now, we could put it to use. We'd properly dispose them afterwards, of course. :)

Kuya Rolly got us some healthy garden soil, then we mixed it with rice husk just like last time. Ate Melda would then transfer them into the plastic while mama create some holes in them.

Lastly, I'd pour some water (from the water pump, so there's no chlorine) into each of them to get them ready for the sprouts.

We have created enough plastic makeshift pots, so we're going to take the sprouts out of the recycled bottle and transfer them. But before that, I want to show you a closer look of the sprouts. They're so cute!!!! I used the macrophotography feature of my phone camera.

Now, let's slowly take them out... slowly so as not to cut the really small roots. Let's start with the bonsai okra... then do the same with the iceberg lettuce afterwards.

That's for the bonsai okra. Hopefully they grow well so we could do the final transfer both in a pot or in the common garden for the community.

This is for the iceberg lettuce. I'm really excited for this because I love eating lettuce so much. hahaha

Mama and I then placed them at the back of our house because they could get enough sun and won't be too affected by the rain.

Mama's hands... hahaha I had to clean mine soon to document, though... but it's really fun. I had to cut my nails extra short these days because of gardening... not that I mind, though. :)

Later in the afternoon, papa decided to transfer the bench (which is kind of broken) from our front yard to the back of our house. He also placed all of the replanted sprouts on it. This way, it's easier to check them every day.

I usually check our plants before work because sometimes there are some worms and other insects, so I take them away from the leaves.

Please grow well our babies... <3 And hopefully, the other veggies would start having more sprouts so we could also replant them next as well.

Some of them already have small sprouts, so I'll share some pictures of them as well. Here they are...

This is siling labuyo... (wild chili)

This is tomato... :)

I took this yesterday afternoon because I was excited to see a small sprout. This is romaine lettuce. I couldn't take a photo earlier today (I thought I did), but there were a couple more sprouts... :)

The eggplant and the onion has a couple really tiny sprouts as well. I do hope to see more in the coming days, though. :)

We also started drying some seeds, so we could try and plant them in the coming days. The upper photo is of bell pepper seeds, while the second one below is of green chili seeds. Mama also tried dying this whole green chili and perhaps we cold try and plant it as well.

We're all really enjoying this. It's an amazing hobby to start with the whole family and other community members. It's something I look forward to doing every morning and of course, more gardening in the weekend. :)

Thanks for checking my garden update post. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. See you around!!!! <3

Wow. It bringing out more leaves now at the moment. Yes, this is the main purpose of farming skills. The onions, the peppers when they grow at first they grow slowly but later on, they start to run when growing. I also planted some peppers too. Not yet germinated at all. Well-done.

Thank you!!! It's so fun and I can't help but anticipate... 😁😁😁 Let's enjoy farming and gardening!!!
