Garden Update: Seeds on Egg Tray Sprouted + Re-Planting Some Lettuce Sprouts! :)

It's time for some garden updates! :)

As you know, my family and I have started planting some vegetables in pots in our garden. However, around a week or so ago, we tried germinating some seeds using an egg tray. You can check my previous post here.

That time, we used bell pepper and green chili seeds. I mentioned last time that mama just watch some random videos about it, so we decided to try it out as well. And guess what? A week later, some sprouts started to show up!

Aren't they cute?? I focused on taking the pictures of the much bigger sprouts, but when I checked them earlier this morning, most slots have at least a small leaf showing. <3 When they grow even bigger, we're going to re-plant some of them in pots at home while most of them would go to the community garden.

We already started working on our community garden, but I'll be updating about it once there are more progress. We're trying to build it one step at a time, but it's looking pretty well these days.

Now, on to the next part... re-planting some lettuce in bigger pots!!!

As you can see, they're growing pretty fast and they'd need more space to continue growing. These two pots of lettuce has the biggest progress so far, so I decided on re-planting these first.

I carefully took them out from the temporary pots where we planted them and I re-used the soil from those pots and just added more soil, fertilizer and rice hulls. Here's the soil preparation below...

This was the reused soil from the previous temporary pots.

Added more soil...

Added some fertilizer and rice hulls... it's now ready to be mixed. :)

I prepared some water and yes... spoons we've already decided to use for gardening. haha

I had to wet the soil in both containers (we recycled one big water bottle and cut it in half) and divided it into four parts. I then slowly transferred the seedlings in each section.

This time, these seedlings have more space to grow. After cleaning the things I used for replanting, I placed them at the back of the house together with the other seedlings. :)

I did this last Sunday... and when I checked them this morning, they grew even bigger. I couldn't take a photo because I didn't bring my phone... but will take more photo updates soon!

There are still a few okra and lettuce sprouts in the temporary pots, but we're giving some of them away to my aunts in the coming days. I'll be replanting more on my next day off and perhaps transfer more sprouts in the community garden. :)

It's still the initial phase, but here's a small glimpse of our community garden.

We tried to close it off using some bamboo sticks so the ducks and chicken won't enter. easily. We already planted some stuff there, but will update more about it later. :)

Thanks for checking this post. I hope you enjoyed my short update. See you around! :)
