Garden Update: New Baby Veggies and Our Christmas Tree-like Lettuce... <3

in Agricultural Mindset11 months ago

It was raining the whole day yesterday, so I missed going to the garden. It was quite a good thing, though because it somehow decreased the temperature. Recently, we are experiencing really hot and humid days, but yesterday was much cooler. We didn't even turn on the air conditioner even once. At least, we could save some electricity... our electric bill is crying these days. xD

Anyway, I got to visit the garden again today and was surprised by some new discoveries. :)

We already cooked the previous eggplant we had and now, the wilted flower was changed into a baby eggplant. You can still see the wilted flower attached to it, though. Isn't it cute? We're going to plant more eggplants soon. For now, we only have this one pot. :)

Aside from the baby eggplant, I saw this cute little baby in front of our house. Can you spot it? If not, allow me to show you a closer shot...

Yes!!! Finally, the tomato in our home garden bore some baby tomatoes. It's the first time since we planted it, so I'm really happy and excited to see it. This one is a regular tomato, but I ordered a bunch of new seeds and one of them would be that of a cherry tomato. Maybe my order would arrive today, so I'm quite excited about it. I'll be germinating some seeds again and plant more soon.

Lastly, I want to show you this unique iceberg lettuce we have. As you may see, compared to the other lettuce, this one is unique. Doesn't it look like a Christmas tree? It's really growing upward and it's just so interesting to watch it.

It's a fine day today and I hope it wouldn't be very hot. Our plants really enjoyed the rainy day yesterday. Well, I did too. Despite having to work, it felt calmer... maybe because of the comfortable temperature.

Anyway, I'd get back to work. My student this time was absent, so I got the chance to blog. I'll see you around! (^^,)/

I also grew eggplant, but strangely too much sun caused the fruit to be lighter in color. The leaves of my tomato plants are likewise wilting due to the heat.

Great to see your garden thriving!

Light purple???
We try to put them in the shade during the hottest hours of the day, so they won't wilt... and water them every afternoon. Thankfully, they're doing pretty well and I hope they continue to do so. :) Thanks. ^^

@tipu curate
