Hello friends! :)
I'm really glad to receive your comments on my previous post. It makes me happy to know that quite a number of people are interested in doing the challenge with me.
Of course, I want everyone to enjoy writing and tell their stories. Blogging for 30 days straight might be difficult, so there's no pressure. Let's just try and enjoy the process! I don't think I can do the challenge successfully either, but I'll try to find time to insert writing in my daily schedule because it's one of my stress-relievers.
I'll start with the challenge through this post, so I hope you enjoy reading it. :)
The Year the Name @tegoshei Was Born
It was in the year 2010 when my username, @tegoshei, was born. This is a bit of a cringe, but I hope you put up with it. Let's travel back ten years ago. So the pictures that you're going to see on this post are also taken on that year, so pardon the quality.
As you may have read in my previous posts, I am into a Japanese group called NEWS and my favorite member is named "Tegoshi Yuya". The first half of my username comes from his family name "Tegoshi". And as for the other half, it comes from my real name which is "Sheila".
One day 10 years ago, I playfully wrote something on my palm. It's actually the word "Tegoshi" which becomes "Sheila" when you read it upside down. That time, I was in a dream world where I think I am Tegoshi's wife. (as expected of a fangirl) Well, I still think the same, though. haha
That year, I took a break from University because I was recovering from a surgery. I was depressed because I felt alone and left out. I didn't want to stop going to school, but I had no choice.
And then I found NEWS and Tegoshi. They became the light to my dark days and I learned to smile again. Their songs helped me get over my depression, especially Tegoshi's voice. That time, it's very difficult to find their videos and songs on YouTube because their company was so strict. While looking for more of their videos and music, I stumbled upon a website called JPOPASIA. It was updated with all their music and whereabouts, there were also a lot of people who are into the same music as I do, so I created an account.
I first used @tegoshei on that site... and later on in my other social media accounts.
Here's a 10-year old calligraphy of my username. <3 It has been ten long years, but I still use the same username in almost everything even in my job. My students call me Teacher Tegoshei, and it's just so nice to listen to this name. Somehow, it has been a part of my life, so I really treasure this username. Perhaps when you search "Tegoshei" on the internet, everything would be about me. It makes me happy that this name has been a part of my identity in this virtual world.
Usually, when we buy a letter pendant, it'd be the first letter of our name... however in my case, it's the letter "T" for "tegoshei". I also bought this necklace ten years ago. I had other stuff representing "tegoshei" before, but I don't have pictures anymore. I have also either lost them, or they might have been broken.
And yeah, that's basically how this username was born! :)
I'll end this post with a picture of @tegoshei. It's me from ten years ago, and I'm wearing my I love TEGO shirt. :) I will forever treasure this name.
Thank you so much for reading this post. Have a great day/night everyone! Until next time.
PS: I'll do my best to do the second item of this challenge tomorrow! Jaa ne~
