My Babies (new art materials) Arrived + Painting a Face Using My Expired Makeup

in GEMS3 years ago (edited)

Finally! My new art materials arrived... A few days ago, my parents gave me some budget to buy stuff online and of course, everything is for art materials. They did this because I rarely buy stuff for myself (I pay the bills and loans so nothing left for me... lol) and also, this is an investment since I love practicing and posting art-related stuff.

Let's start with the unboxing.

I bought it from a single seller, so we could save with the shipping fees. haha Anyway, let's check them out individually.

First up, I bought these brushes. I really like this type of brush because it's not messy and they're pretty easy to use as well. There are several types of brush in this set, so I can choose what to use depending on the art I'm making.

Next item would be this watercolor tubes. I have been using tulcraft the past months and I actually like it because I just need 5 colors which are the primary colors, black and white... and all that is left to do is mix them to create new colors. However, I noticed that they form molds along time. I'm a bit worried about it. Well, I still have to use the remaining ones. It would be such a waste not to use them.

Lastly, we have these 300gsm watercolor papers. I have been wanting to have these, but they're quite pricey... and I still have a couple of watercolor paper left which papa bought last time. They're still usable, so I'd be using them for practice.. or maybe for oil pastel artworks. :)

I'm really happy with these purchases and I'm surely going to try them out soon. :) I'm thinking of painting more landscapes or scenery. I have been enjoying creating such artworks lately. I bought two A5 and one A4. It's really thick, so I can use both sides of the paper. :)

Thank you mama and papa for sponsoring my art materials. There are other materials that I want to buy, but they're quite pricey, so I'll be saving for them in the future. <3

For the second part of this post, I painted a face using my expired makeup. Since I started working from home, I seldom used makeup and when the pandemic started, I never wore them again... and they all ended up expiring. I didn't want to throw them away, so I'll turn them into art materials as well.

Here are some pictures of my artwork using my expired makeup. <3

This is just a quick painting I did while fixing my art materials... because I also gave some of my old brushes and paint which are still usable to some kids here for their art classes. :)

I'll try to find out more ways on how to make use of these makeup for art. <3

I'm just so happy! I'll make good use of these stuff! Until next time! <3
