I am spending a few days at my brother's house in the neighborhood of Santa Tereza. This neighborhood is at the top of the hills and through its narrow hillsides, this charming little train travels.
When I was young I went to this neighborhood a lot because I studied at a school here. At the time and for a long time, it was possible to travel for free on the cable cars and standing on this narrow board that has outside the trams and serves as a step for passengers to climb. The rule was that a ticket would only be charged if the person sat on the seats inside the car.
However, a few years ago there was a serious accident when one of them derailed and fell causing a fatal victim.
After this event and a long time (years) of renovations, recently the train started to run again... But now it is forbidden to travel standing outside the tram as we did in our adventures of yore.
