What's up Splinterland Players!!

I hope you all are happy and enjoying Splinterlands!

This is your splinter fellow warrior mango-juice with another Splinterlands social challenge post!!

Hi friends, I am glad to share my second episode of powerless summoners and today, we will discuss the Fire summoner Talia Firestorm. In my previous post, we have talked about the Earth summoner Xander Foxwood. I have experienced first hand how useful that summoner that can be under certain circumstances. Especially in a 12 mana match, I can't find a better alternative of Xander + Kron combo.

But in today's post, I will showcase another Powerless 2 mana summoner, Talia Firestorm. Talia Firestorm is a Fire summoner that was launched with the first beta edition. It is an epic card and requires a total 46 BCX to become max level.

Normally, I use Fire in melee mayhem or Super Sneak matches and sometimes in Equizier matches too. Fire monsters are considered to be the angriest and most powerful monsters but many of them are not very defensive.

Most of the fireworks are played by Malric and Zaku which are 2 powerful summoners of Fire reign. But not very often, when they are bounded by the magical rulesets of the battlefield, or becomes powerless, Talia shows herself to the rescue.

Let's see what the magical book of splinterlands has to tell about this cute little fire-breather.

Talia is the older of the two daughters of celebrity summoner couple Aggroedius Lightbringer (Life Splinter) and Lyanna Natura (Earth Splinter). About a decade ago, the two discovered an abandoned Dragon egg while travelling in Draykh-Nahka. They incubated and hatched the egg, raising the young Flame Dragon Talia as their own and training her as a summoner.

Why Talia is an important card?

  • Firstly, mana count! Especially in low mana matches, Talia can become your favourite summoner because of the mana cost. So getting 1 more mana may give you the freedom to choose Serpentine Soldier over Cerberus or the Serpentine Spy instead of that naughty Kobold Moner.
  • Secondly, Talia, like any other 2 mana summoner, is a perfect fit for Silenced summoners matches.
  • Lastly, In bronze tournaments, the max level of monsters that can be used in battles are (common = level 3, rare = level 2, epic = level 2 and legendary = level 1). But when playing bronze level tournaments, if you use any epic summoners, you can use level 3 rare monsters in the matches whereas if you use the normal summoners, you can only use level 2 rare monsters.

Current Market Status

Right now there a few max Talia available at the market with low price and listed at 27.60$ (47,443.700 DEC) which is 0.60$ per BCX. The one BCX cards are available from 1.27$ (2,179.818 DEC) and increasing.

Sadly, I don't have a Talia in my collection. But I will use the red dog account which holds a max Talia along with a great collection of Fire cards.

Ruleset Of Battle

image.png

image.png

  • Mana count This match holds a medium 27 mana cap!

  • Summoners This battle supports Fire, Earth, Life and Death summoners.

  • Ruleset So, It was a double ruleset this time...
    • Unprotected (Monster will lose their armours and no buff will give armour).
    • Close Range (Range Monsters attack from the first position).

It's a medium mana match this time and I am thinking to go for the Fire summoner Talia deck with a group of archer monsters! In a Close range match, I always try to use as many arccher I can and my fire collection has almost all the archers from beta, untamed, reward and orb edition. So, I will use Talia and all 6 Range monsters.

For the ruleset, as no armours will be used in the battle, I chose to sort out Tower Griffin or any high armour beast and went with others archers.

FIRE BEETLE

I chose FIRE BEETLE in the third place because of its Sniper ability with high power. I have a level 10 and it has 3 range attack, 3 speed, 2 armour and 6 health. It carries Sniper ability from its initial level.

CENTAUR

I chose CENTAUR in the fourth place because of its Sniper ability at high speed. I have a level 10 and it has 3 range attack, 6 speed and 3 health. It also carries Sniper ability from its initial level.

Battle Result

Well, I knew the match was going to get a bit weird as I intentionally used all range monsters with a fire summoner. I admit I never really did something like this before! The opponent used the water Alric deck with neutral and water monsters on me but my melee monsters got able to survive and kill down the enemies one by one.

Let us now take a dive in the gameplay.

First, let us follow the opponent's line-up...

  • My opponent @sub-zero used Fire summoner Malric against me.
  • At the front position, he used Serpentine Soldier Level 8. He chose a furious fast beast to his front and I just hope I get able to kill this furious monster with my ranger warriors.
  • At the second position, he used Giant Roc level 10.
  • At the third position, he puts the Tower Griffin lev 1.
  • At the fourth position, he chose Kobold Miner lev 10.
  • At the fifth position, he chose Fire Demon lev 6.
  • At the last position, he chose Cerberus level 8.

My opponent went with 5 max cards upon me. His line up was very powerful and for a moment I thought I am losing the match. But my archers really did well this time and luckily I won :)

First of all, My Cornealus really proved himself worthy of a tank card! He alone defenced against the Serp and Roc while my other archers were killing that level 1 Griffin and then the Fire Demon. My snipers also did well killing them one by one.

It was a 27 mana match and I choose to use Talia instead of taking a summoner buff. This time I wanted to see if saving 1 mana and sacrificing one buff is really worth it or not.

Anyways, if the mana limit was above 35-40 no way I can win with an epic summoner in a non-silenced match. It was just for fun and DO NOT TRY THIS AT RANKED MATHES!

It really was a great match and my opponent also did very well. I hope you have enjoyed reading my post. Please let me know your feelings by leaving a comment below.

buenas noches, muy bueno su trabajo, saludos desde venezuela

Exciting battle! I don't see the powerless summoners used very often anymore.

yes, Greg. I also rarely use them on the battlefield. until or unless its a low mana silenced match.

Oh, nice!
I was actually laughing at your all-ranged fire team too. πŸ˜‚
I was like, "WUT is he doing?!"
I mean, sure, ruleset and stuff... it's just fire?
But! If you knew your opponent was going with Water I'd have gone Fire too. If all else fails I try to choose the best Splinter for my opponent.

Great post and insight!
Also, you are amazing. 😘@carrieallen

haha! For a moment I also thought what I m doing with all the archers with a fire summoner but it somehow worked this time LOl XD And yes, I always try to choose the best summoner against my opponent but sometimes it gets hard to guess what your opponent will use. I am still a novice in that way :)

Thank you for the awesome support carrie! #awesomeness
