My Challenge - An Embarrising Story

in GEMS4 years ago

Hey bloggers, it is another day in the @tegoshei challenge and a rainy Tuesday at that. I want us to sit back and enjoy my story.

My embarrassing story was in my high school. High school was indeed a place for my learning. I learned a lot and won't forget it in a hurry. I started high school at the age of twelve and was very lanky and shy amongst my age group. My school was one of the prestigious schools (Krisbethel College). Most of my mate made a mockery of me and called me names like Itayin (toothpick). High school was an incredible place and also a place of fun.

That is my lanky self in my High school uniform 😅😂🤣.

The embarrassing story that still sticks in my head happened at the stage I was in my Junior High School Three (3) in my Speech Transition class.

We always had our speech Transition class two period to closing time on Tuesdays and this particular day, like always I was at my seat which was the last sit in the class with my sit partner who was a guy and a playful but intelligent one like myself. We were actually not concentrating in class and laughing over some silly jokes when the teacher caught us and asked me to stand up and spell cup.

Boldly and with a proud smile on my face, I stood up. I bet you are imagining what a simple question to ask but then I stood up and spelled cup as Sup. Everyone turned and started laughing but then I just thought they also saw how funny the question my teacher asked me was. I joined in laughing and looked proud not knowing what I was spelling was wrong. I was proudly spelling the wrong thing 🤣.

When the laugh still continued anytime I spelled the three-letter words, I was forced to ask my seat partner what was wrong and he told me I was spelling the wrong thing. I told him I wasn't wrong and argued. My teacher called me out and asked me to spell it on the board and I spelled it correctly but then she asked me to turn and face the class and spell exactly what I spelled on the board but I still spelled it as Sup.

She asked me to stretch forth my hands and cane me for wrongly spelling the words saying it was as a result of my lack of concentration and asked someone else to spell the same thing and she spelled it correctly. Throughout the double period of her class, I was asked to stand up and not sit until her class was over.

I felt embarrassed and could not say anything to my friends throughout my walk home even throughout that week in school I kept to myself because my classmate won't stop making a jest of me that I could not spell ordinary cup.

Thank you for reading through my post. Hope you enjoyed it.

Catch you later 👋
