[ITA/ENG] My city, my roots, my heart - Rome - Piazza di Spagna https://ecency.com/hive-146620/@sissim72/ita-eng-my-city-my

Ho cominciato quindi a camminare.

A presto 😊

A few days ago I started telling you about that day in March 2021 in which rumors of a new lockdown began.
That day little Cinderella (myself) had rebelled against her stepmother and her two stepsisters (her husband and two children in order) and had gone out, armed with disinfectant gel, masks, double cell phone battery, headphones to listen to youtube and the his Nikon, to go for a walk around his hometown: Rome.
The tour started in Piazza di Spagna and if you like to read it you can find it here:

[ITA/ENG] My city, my roots, my heart - Rome - Piazza di Spagna https://ecency.com/hive-146620/@sissim72/ita-eng-my-city-my

So I started walking. My destination was the Trevi Fountain.
It was a long time since I went to the Center.
Rome is a beautiful city… for tourists.
But for us mere mortals who have to live there, work, raise children, Rome is an ordeal of traffic, scarce public transport, impossible parking.
So at the City Center, either you live there, or you work there, or you don't go there.
Furthermore, the center of Rome is not exactly designed as a perfect decumanus cardo (Manhattan style for example, where, if you know the street number and the name of the Avenue, you can easily reach the place you want to go) but it is a traffic jam of streets and streets where you lose your sense of direction.
And so I, who have not received in gift a sense of direction, got lost and walked exactly in the opposite direction.

psx_20220121_221606.jpg

I went down to Via del Corso and found myself in Piazza Colonna.
The name of the square derives from the Column of Marcus Aurelius, a commemorative monument of the victories of the homonymous Emperor, erected by his son Commodus.

The Column of Marcus Aurelius was built taking the Trajan's Column as a model and the fundamental difference between the two is that the first is carved in low relief, the second in high relief (it means that the carved figures come almost out of the marble) .
Therefore, although imposing and beautiful, it fails to emulate the grandeur of that of Trajan as the figures remain more hidden in the marble and the landscapes are much less detailed (unfortunately, in addition to being born in Rome and having studied Chemistry at the University, I had humanistic studies in secondary school, so you have to put up with me).
Above there was a golden statue of Marcus Aurelius, now replaced by a bronze statue of St. Paul.
psx_20220121_221820.jpg

I asked for help from two traffic police and resumed my way to the Trevi Fountain and, after a long walk, I reached it.
I tried to take some selfies with my reflex camera that has a swiveling screen, but taking a selfie with a reflex is not a very simple thing considering the weight, the fact that you have to use the other hand to click the shutter and above all that mother nature gave you the genetic potential of a Hobbit.
So either I had myself on focus or the fountain and here I am, with a fantastic triple chin showing the effort (appreciate it).

psx_20220121_222125.jpg

Unfortunately back home I was impatient to review the photos before downloading them and instead of going back and forth ... I deleted them 🤐
So I have only the ones I showed you and it is a real shame because as you can see there was not a living soul and I don't think I will ever see the fountain like this.
The fountain does not need a great description, it is a well-known symbol of Rome.
Legend has it that if you throw a coin in the water sooner or later you will come back to Rome.
So there are many tourists who come to see it and throw the coin, which must be thrown strictly with your back to the fountain.
At one time the fountain was accessible (the bathroom of Anita Ekberg in "La Dolce Vita" is very famous) and in the evening the kids entered the fountain to take away the money before the employees of the Municipality arrived.
I threw money into the fountain, as a child and as a girl.

Maybe I launched too many, since I've never left Rome 😏.

The shots were taken with a Nikon D5500 18-105 lens.
I wish you a good day and thanks for reading.
See you soon 😊

Hey @sissim72, here is a little bit of BEER from @libertycrypto27 for you. Enjoy it!

Do you want to win SOME BEER together with your friends and draw the BEERKING.

Very nice. I've taken similar shots myself of Trevi.

I am very glad you liked. I am a little bit disappointed because I had more but I deleted by mistake. So you visited my city. Hope you loved it.

Bellissime immagini e bellissima Roma!!

!BEER

Ci riempissero le buche con quei soldi!! Ma non credo bastino

Hey @barnabo73, here is a little bit of BEER from @sissim72 for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that you can use BEER at dCity game to **buy dCity NFT cards** to rule the world.

Dai! Forza! In Primavera, adesso è piovoso 🤗
