In Beirut, Lebanon, a series of explosions have devastated the city, killing over 100 people and wounding thousands. The number looks set to rise.
What is impressive is the shock wave of an explosion that to date seems inexplicable.
The official version would suggest that the explosion was due to an unfortunate accident. An accident in a fireworks factory or one that would have caused a fire in an area full of fireworks.
The reconstructions, at the moment, are all to be verified.
As with 9/11, conspiracy theories are bound to grow by the hour. The most credited would see the involvement of Israel, which has always interfered in that part of the world.
For now we are left with images that evoke what we saw on September 11, 2001 in New York. That time the planes were visible, the enemy appeared clear.
Today there are no planes and the enemy is invisible. The hope is that there are no enemies to fight but only an unfortunate accident to be discovered and not repeated.
Hopefully, the number of casualties will not soar.

Quello che impressiona è l'onda dìurto di un'esplosione che ad oggi appare inspiegabile.
La versione ufficiale lascerebbe pensare che l'esplosione sia stata dovuta ad uno sfortunato incidente. Un incidente in una fabbrica di fuochi d'artificio o che comunque avrebbe causato un incendio in una zona colma di fuochi d'artificio.
Le ricostruzioni, al momento, sono tutte da verificare.
Cosi come avvenne per l'11 settembre, le teorie del complotto sono destinate a crescere di ora in ora. La più accreditata vedrebbe il coinvolgimento di Israele, da sempre ingerente in quella zona del mondo.
Per ora ci rimangono delle immagini che evocano quanto visto l'11 settembre 2001 a New York. Quella volta gli aerei erano visibili, il nemico appariva chiaro.
Oggi non ci sono aerei e il nemico è invisibile. La speranza è che non ci siano nemici da combattere ma solo uno sfortunato incidente da appurare e da non ripetere.
Sperando che il numero dei morti non salga vertiginosamente.
