New Idea for the TradFi Community! Stock Picks!

Good day TradFi Community!

Made by Copilot AI

So I have been thinking about this a lot and did not make this post without thinking about it.

Would it be a good idea to have a suggested stock people can research if they want?

image.png

I personally like to research stocks of companies that people do not "like" because that research is WAY more interesting in my opinion.

If you follow my comments on chain you will see that lately I have been researching Wendy's stock. The ticker is $WEN.

If people do not know what a stock ticker is please let me know in the comments and we could probably ask one of the many fantastic TradFi community blog posters to write a post about that. "Fantastic" is my opinion but I think I am right on this one!

image.png

I also have noticed some of our posts have gotten "good" traction on Reddit. If we want to have a designated Reddit sharer I think that would be a good idea but I need feedback in the comments before we make a move like that.

*TradFi Community on HIVE is NOT sponsored or affiliated with Posh in any way.

I did not ask the Posh team before making this post so my apologies I that is not ok! (For context - Our community has benefited from Posh already so I think it makes sense to show them some props but also I would like to see if we can use Posh better; to me this is an interesting idea!)

image.png

This post is a short one from me because the idea is inherently simplistic. I hope that it is ok that this is a short post!

On that note, TGIF!

The suggested topics would be great; I'm researching macroeconomics. I'll upload my post as soon as I can, and I love the idea of Reddit too—I'll upload my content there as well. Since joining Hive, I've been using Reddit, and sometimes Hiveposh rewards me for it.
Good ideas, and I love Wendy's fries, I tried them years ago. I don't know about Wendy's stock, but I do know about their fries and chicken.

And I also know that going to Wendy's is a luxury that very few can afford; it's very difficult for the working class to go. My parents took me many years ago when the country's situation wasn't so difficult. But if we go to McDonald's from time to time

I haven't yet had the pleasure of trying Wendy's, but it's on my to-do list. :)

I am active with Posh and reddit. I hope, that Hive gets more attention through this initiative and also TadFi. It is good to have a community where people can find a lot of news an articles about stocks, economy and everything related to this.

I think there are still a lot of people who don't have much knowledge about these topics. So maybe they can find some inspiration here.

Are you getting luck on Posh + Reddit combo? I've read a few complains about this (because the rules there seem to be "restrictive").

I do not share too many links from Hive on reddit. At some time, there were users which shared many many links from Hive in only one sub there. And they felt it is spamming, which I can understand. Some subs are restrictive, others not so much. Depends on the mods.

I am mod of a sub, so I can make the rules as long as they comply with reddit.
My subject is stockmarket and economy and there is much more reaction on reddit than here on Hive. Hive is 90% gaming but I am not interested in gaming.

I have more than 300k views there in a month and many respond and discuss. On Hive there is almost no resonance.

And the rules on Hive (which do not exist!!! really?) are very unclear. If some user with big HP does not like your postings he will downvote them.
No rules? Ok, but not all users are equal on Hive. More HivePower = more power and influence.

Which subreddits do you usually share the tradfi posts?

wikifolio

Thanks.

Is there any requirements or rules? Like karma stuff

No, but don't spam

Understood 👍

I see you sharing quite a few of the posts via posh. You are a good person to do imo but let's ask around and see what other folks think!

TGIF!

This idea has potential, but I think it needs to be a well-planned movement so it doesn't seem like Reddit is going to be "invaded" by this kind of content.

I like the idea. I have seen your comment, asking wendy stock analysis. I have no idea what this stock is about but will try to see about it.
I am aware of posh project which aims to bring more traffic on hive through alternate social media channels

Encouraging the pursuit of knowledge is already a good start, even if we don't know what is being discussed (hence the importance of research).

I do not usually research many stocks. Main reason is valuations are what they are and I cannot change that. That being said I will be looking into how to do this because I think it is a good move for the community.

... I think it is a good move for the community.

You can be sure about that. This certainly encourages users to want to seek more knowledge.

I was actually trying to learn more about the redditposh, but I don't understand nothing about reddit and usually have some problems as they ask for something called "karma" like you need X karma to comment or share. Some communities let you post while others don't...

I think that's something amazing to bring more users to hive, I saw one post about the project that said they had over 1 million views in one month and they are doing that without any help from DHF.

I was actually trying to learn more about the redditposh...

I think there's a rather complex dynamic at play, at least from what I've read. I've seen some users complaining about being banned for "violating" their (Reddit) rules.

That's the problem. I don't know what are the "rules" 100%. Some were banned and don't even know why...

The question then becomes: How do you make a project happen when the rules are "hidden" from the users?

Yeah. It's like try and try, make you'll get right sometime, and suddenly wrong and BAN.

The suggested topics sound fantastic, it's a great idea, and I'll have to familiarize myself with Reddit and be more active there if the proposal comes to fruition; it seems excellent. It's on the right track the community. We're growing and adding initiatives. You have a lot of work ahead of you; I hope you recharge your batteries, my friend.

Hey, I just wanted to clarify something on the rules of posting in the community. I realize I'm not a whitelisted author, so I figured I'd ask here first if you'd mind if I post occasionally?

When you say no personal finance posts, does that mean a post covering a topic like dividends would be allowed, so long as I kept personal examples to a minimum?

Would it be dividends related to a company? Or some other type of investment?

The no personal finance is more like avoiding things like daily spending habits. How to set a personal budget. That type of stuff is what we are trying to avoid.

Like if you want to write a post about dividends there should be examples of the investment and the pros and cons of the investment.

Sorry I didn’t respond to this sooner. My notifications are out of control on this platform 😅

I was thinking of a comparison of aggressive vs predictable dividends, and using specific stocks as examples to reinforce the point.

Hey, no worries. I can only imagine how many people are responding to you, tagging you, etc. I appreciate the response! 🙂

Would it be a good idea to have a suggested stock people can research if they want?

Interesting, my friend. I'll be watching and ready to participate. Cheers!

Your community is relatively new and already a huge success, and I believe that's not only due to your voting power but also to your interest in doing something good.

Much success

Excellent, my friend. I would really appreciate your suggestion of the points that could be addressed in Tradfi. This way I can avoid being silenced in the community like last time. I would be very grateful for some guidelines. Clear and suggested topics. It's the best thing and for the good of the community. In this community I've learned a lot about finance, and the best part is the interaction and the rewards we receive for growing our Hive account. I'm grateful for that; it's a great incentive. I believe that if we all move forward for the common good, Hive and each of us will benefit.

The community is new, but with time, things will flow more easily as its purpose becomes better understood by all users. In any case, guidelines are always very welcome. :)

I don't know what "posh" means, nor do I know about searching for tokens like you mentioned, and I didn't even know people were doing that. I have no idea about anything financial, but Reddit is a great network for unlimited chatting, so I'm sure the topics might attract attention there.

thz sir i go check

... Reddit is a great network for unlimited chatting...

I kinda agree with that, but they seem to be kind of picky about granting permission to enter certain topics (or projects).

I usually work in comedy, so I don't know how they would approach those financial topics.

„designated Reddit sharer I think that would be a good idea“

What do you mean with that? Like an automated repost of TraFi posts into Reddit? Sounds good to me. Quite some of my posts generated additional HIVE via that Posh-Bridge already.

It's an interesting idea, but I think this bridge needs to be well-constructed to avoid potential bans or misconceptions about the whole project.

Good knowledge is shared knowledge. I strongly believe in this kind of mindset. Actually, I just launched a contest in this community to see what happens.

The more "entry points" there are to facilitate this, the more we should take advantage of them. Let's spread the knowledge out there (even if there is resistance).

It's interesting to search, sometimes people will learn something new. I usually like some stock that deals with things people will use even in "chaos", like people will need water, need energy, need food things like that. However fast food restaurant when people are low budget it's one of the first things they'll cut from their living cost.

Exploring the path of knowledge is what keeps the world of information turning (at maximum speed).

Is it possible to make a page on Reddit like the splinterlands does? probably better to have a place to hang out there than chipping your hive post somewhere else.

Probably yes, but the main problem with Reddit It's just that they seem to be more "protectionist" about certain types of themes (I guess).

so is it first come first serve basis? if it has already existing theme then the similar wont be supported?

Does Wendy's still exist? I know it does, but I've never looked at it. The Happy Meal company is the market leader and will continue to be. To be honest, I'm not interested in buying stock right now.

I thought the same, but I'm already looking into this. This community is making me research topics that aren't on my financial radar (and I think I can blame @hurtlocker, for making me do this... haha).

I shared my own tradefi post on reddit and it went well 😄 I can't see anything wrong, the author earns the 20% of the share too

I don't mind the suggestion as long as it's a suggestion and not a financial advice

Did you follow any specific rules? Because I've seen some users complaining about the rules there.

What you mean? On reddit or hive?

LOL I think he means Reddit 😆

you never know, people compain about hive "rules" too 😂

My inlaws live in Dublin, OH where the Wendy's world headquarters is. It's actually just down the road from their house and every now and then they get invited to participate in test food studies when they are looking at adding something new to their menu. I like the idea of curated stock picks. I have a couple that I really like that probably aren't popular with a lot of other people.

This looks like something culinaryly interesting. A fun adventure, I would say.

yeah, if I lived as close as they do, it would probably be dangerous!

A personal note about stock picking (if I read this post correctly):

Back in 1958 my family moved in with my Uncle John briefly. I remember he used to sit at the dining table and spread graphs out. There he plotted the performance of stocks he was interested in. He read the papers and plotted his graphs. People used to ask Uncle John for stock tips because he did so well. He did his research and was quite methodical. Uncle John had a far better standard of living than his salary as a movie projectionist would otherwise have allowed. He had only a fourth grade education.

I love the idea of suggested stocks to research.

We can dig into this, and it would be an extremely interesting sharing of knowledge for all of us.

My son has dipped into the market...I'll share the info with him.

Well... That's a start, haha!

i post quite short nowadays. i think its about consistency more than it is about word count.. and yea, not all ppl like reading long stuff.. (i am one of those)

ps. a cow eating a burger? isnt that cannibalism??

If you can combine consistency with longer posts, the game can become more interesting as well.

I haven't had any luck on Reddit, man; all my accounts get blocked, I can't upload anything there. And as for topics you might suggest, it would be great to have a list; it would make it much easier for me to post something at some point.

I haven't had any luck on Reddit...

You're definitely not the only one. The rules there seem to be quite "strict".

The idea of a suggested stock for community research is great. It turns the community into a decentralized analyst firm.

Different viewpoints on different subjects are always welcome. This diversification of knowledge makes everything more dynamic and more democratic.

This tip is because I failed previous one .

In the last few years, both Wendy's that were closest to where I live closed.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I'm interested in contributing to the initiative proposed by @wiseagent in your community. I've prepared a post about it and would appreciate your approval to share it with the group. I look forward to your feedback.
