The Philippines is known to be a tropical country, so it's expected that it's mostly hot here. However, the last couple weeks of March, April, May and first few weeks of June are the hottest.
The temperature these days has been hitting 30-ish in the daytime and around 28-30 degrees at night. Well, April has just started and we expect it to rise even higher in the days to come.
I work from home, so I don't really expose myself to the heat outside... but even so, it's pretty humid and it's becoming more and more uncomfortable as days pass by. Since, I'm expecting the temperature to be worse than now, I decided to give myself a haircut.
I usually have long hair because of my face shape and I'm also in the plus size, so long hair would make my face look smaller. haha However, I couldn't take the heat any longer, so I cut it short. Well, it's not too short, but much shorter than what it used to.
Here's my hair before the haircut. I didn't cut it for around 2 years, I think. Or maybe, I just trimmed it a bit the past years. I actually have straight hair, but it looks wavy in the picture because I braided it that time. :)
Here are my tools for cutting my hair. I've been cutting my own hair for the past 10 years or so. Although, I also went to the salon a couple times within those years because of cosplay and a promise with my bestie to have our haircut together. haha Aside from those special moments, it was just me and my bandage scissors. YES! You read that right. I used to use my bandage scissors in cutting my hair. My mama bought me these tools almost two years ago when she asked me to cut her hair, too.
Goodbye hair!!! I still messed up despite having this container, so I had to clean up my the floor. Good thing, one of my students was absent that time, so I could finish cleaning before my next class started.
And, here's how my hair look now. It's shorter, but just the right length to still tie it. I like tying my hair when doing some activities like drawing, writing something or eating. Here's how it looks when I tie it up.
In order to hide my face's real size, I left some fringe in front. haha Well, this is when I have classes and it's still hot, but when I do the activities I mentioned before, my whole face is in view. xDDD Hurray for filters and auto-makeup... I'm too lazy to put on makeup. xD
I have tried cutting some of my friends' hair before, but nothing special... it's either just trim, straight, layer or fringe. I'm still kind of scared to cut other people's hair. Good thing they kind of trusted me to do so. Same goes for my mama... I guess I've given her a haircut three times now.
Earlier last month, mama asked me to cut her hair because it was getting hot and she usually cooks, so she prefer her hair shorter. I gave her the usual style. It's octopus, but this one is much shorter than usual because she asked me to do it this way. haha
It's actually quite fun to do, but still not confident enough to do other people's hair. I'd stick to my own hair and my regular customer, my mama. As for papa, I'm usually assigned to dye his hair... but he doesn't trust me with cutting... which is actually a good thing. HAHA
That's it for my story tonight. It's actually raining as I'm typing this, but it's soooooo humid! I hope it gets cooler later. I need to turn on my A/C, but we need to save. haha See you around! (^_^)/
