Although the reunion I had with my cousins and other relatives was a sad one, we still tried to look at life positively. Of course, it was difficult to let go of someone who you have spent a lot of your time with in the past and had made an impact on it. However, grieving is a process and we're trying to find our way to the final stage of acceptance.
One night, my family and I went to my uncle's wake. My mama's brother-in-law and sister fetched us from our house going to the place of the wake. We live a bit far from the place and the pandemic and new rules made it more complicated to go. My mama and I are both unvaccinated and wouldn't be receiving on due to medical reasons, so we chose a time to go there when there are less people, hence, we got there at almost midnight and also went home before the sun came up.
I was able to spend time with some relatives I haven't seen since forever. When we went home, my cousins came with us to spend the night or in that case, day, at our place. One of my aunts and my cousin are going home to the province, while my other cousin, had to stay for another night with us because his parents are going to be busy with more stuff related to my uncle's burial and whatnot.
My cousin, Godwyn, and I were busy making some artwork after we helped our other cousin Nicole with her art project. Behind him are my aunt and Nicole who are busy watching some TV programs. This was taken the following night we visited my uncle's wake.
These pictures were taken when we visited my uncle's wake. We spent some hours there before finally going home with my cousins and aunt. My uncle's burial was held yesterday, but only papa went there. Mama and I didn't go because of the pandemic, so at least, we were able to say our last goodbye a couple nights before the burial.
It was already around four in the morning when we arrived home, so my cousins and I decided to bond in my room. We were watching some videos while Nicole was playing AXIE. lol We thought that we'd wait for the sun to rise, have breakfast and then go to bed in the morning. Our parents were already asleep during this time.
These two cousins of mine are very dear to me. We're all an "only child", so we consider ourselves siblings. We also have a really huge age gap. I'm 30, Nicole's 19 and Godwyn is 11... yet, we're super tight as if we're of the same age. haha They're like my besties and I super love these two. I'm not sure if we're still able to spend Christmas together this year, given what happened... but I sure hope so.
Now, going back to the art part. Nicole had a project where she needed to paint, so we helped her. Among the three of us, Nicole isn't much into arts, but Godwyn and I are so into it. So, after we helped her with her project, we tried making our own artworks.
Look at how serious our not-so-little guy is!! He wasn't able to finish the drawing though, because after the others watched the TV program they were watching, we went to the purok for a bit and when we came home, we watched a horror film. I, on the other hand, was able to finish my random scribble of a guy with bright hair. haha
I used some markers on my watercolor pad for this artwork. It was pretty random, but I wanted to create someone who looks bright and happy. I was also able to take some progress shots of this artwork, so I'm sharing it here below.
Yep... that's it for this artwork. I like how the bright colors somehow fit this dude. It's like someone who's a drag queen minus the fabulous hair. hahaha I like this creation, though. I also enjoyed the doodle patterns below which seems like his dress. What do you think?
Anyway, I'll end this here. I'll be posting actively again since it has become less busier. And... I need to go back to work, too... probably after the typhoon. See you!
