HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!
Well, it was Easter Sunday yesterday and my family and I decided to prepare a little activity for the kids in our small community. We decided to have a small Easter Egg Hunt in which the kids can participate. In this post, I'm going to tell you not only the actual hunt but also the preparation we did the night before. :)
To start with, my cousin Godwyn and my aunt (Godwyn's mama) came over to spend my papa's birthday as well as the Holy Week with us. When my mama and I came up with this idea, Godwyn was very excited because he hasn't tried doing this activity yet. He eagerly volunteered to help me with the preparation.
He was especially excited and giddy when I told him we're going to paint the eggs before hiding them. He's a budding artist and I'm really proud of his works even at a young age. I'm truly glad I somehow influenced him to love and enjoy art. Now, let's get into the preparation.
PREPARATION TIME!!!!
Our prizes are just pretty simple, but the experience that the kids is more important. Mama wrote the prizes we need to prepare. We're going with 15 eggs, so we need to paint and also prepare 15 small pieces of paper to write the prize on. We then rolled them and place it inside a plastic bag where we'll also be putting the eggs.
On Saturday night, we began with our preparations. Papa boiled several eggs while mama get the prizes ready. Godwyn, my aunt and I were assigned with the painting. :)
We decided to paint some characters on the eggs instead of the usual patterned egg designs. First, we painted one part to let it dry before we add more details. In this process, my aunt helped Godwyn and me. However, I and Godwyn did the detailing part.
We created various characters. In my case, I made some original characters and some from anime while my cousin made some characters from a mobile game we sometimes play together. We both had fun. It's always really nice to do an activity together from playing games, watching movies or making art-related things with him.
I made an egg version of Shinsuke. <3 He's my baby... and I had to take a photo for remembrance coz he's just too adorable!!! <3
These are ready to go. All we needed to do was to hide them the next morning. We decided to hide them at around 5AM when it's still a bit dark and inform the kids about the activity after breakfast. So, we needed to wake up pretty early for it. The last picture were the prizes we prepared.
It was still this dark when we hid the eggs. Papa woke me up because I wanted to document it and Godwyn also asked us to wake him up because he wanted to hide the eggs as well. We didn't go very far. It's mainly in front of our gate and the surrounding places nearby.
After hiding them, we all took a short nap again before waking up to prepare for breakfast.
EGG HUNTING TIME!!!!!
After breakfast, we asked one of the kids to call all the others because we prepared a small activity for them. Some of them just woke up, but were still willing to join. hahaha
Papa gave them the instructions before the activity. Also, we asked them to share the eggs if ever one of them find more... it's not a contest, instead we want them to enjoy doing something together and accomplishing a goal together. We also want them to learn how to share with others. Anyway, those who wouldn't get to find an egg would still win a consolation prize. <3
They sure had a lot of fun trying to find the eggs. Most of the older kids found the eggs, but they shared it with their younger siblings. One of them even gave his to his younger sister because she wasn't able to find any egg at all. There were 18 kids that day and we only had 15 eggs... but those three that weren't able to find one still received something.
They were waiting for their prizes when I took this photo.
After, I told them to open the paper together with the egg and see what their prizes are. I then gave them the prizes which they happily accepted before finally going home.
SPECIAL EGG HUNT
My cousin Godwyn was very happy to help with the preparation and was a great host during the activity. Little did he know that we also prepared a special egg hunt for him. After we finished the preparation that night, I designed one more egg in my room while mama prepared a prize for him. Papa then hid it before we woke him up the next morning.
Just look at how happy he was! He really didn't expect it. However, he deserved it!!! It was his first time to actually do an Easter egg hunt, so we are very happy to give him this experience. <3
I'm just grateful to grow up as a loving and caring guy. He's turning 12 soon... <3 He and Nicole (another younger cousin) are very close to me and I want to teach them a lot of things that they may or may not learn at school. I share to them my experiences... both struggles and achievements. And I hope that whatever they go through in their life, they should still be thankful. Being happy with the smallest things can make their lives better, but of course, I want them to continue to dream... aim higher and do their best to achieve whatever they want in life. Aim high, but always put your feet on the ground. <3
I'll end this post here. Thanks for checking it out and I hope you guys had an awesome Easter! (^^,)/
