ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #94: Observing Orange (Mini Pictorial with Orange Thingies... xD)

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY3 months ago

Orange isn't my favorite color, but seeing and observing it makes me feel energized and happy especially when it's something nature-related. For this week's ASEAN Hive Community Challenge , we are to do a photography challenge called Observing Orange.

Having another busy week, I didn't really have time to go out and photograph some beautiful and interesting orange things and whatnots. So what I did was went to our store and grabbed anything orange that caught my eye.

I did a mini pictorial with them. Using only my phone and some orangey light, I present to you these models. haha

I actually just got seven various orange stuff from the store and they are as follows:

  • Tang (orange powder juice)
  • Topps Sarap (choco cupcake)
  • Cal Cheese (wafer)
  • Sweet and Spicy Pancit Canton
  • Silka Papaya (body soap)
  • Ace (choco biscuit)
  • Royal (carbonated softdrink)

They're all food and beverages except the papaya soap. Papaya is orange, so it makes sense that the packaging would also be orange. However, for food items, none of them are actually related to the orange flavor or anything orange for that matter.

There was an article I've read in the past which mentioned Orange indirectly stimulates our appetite. It's a very attractive and attention-grabbing color. It reflects happiness and somehow stimulates us to eat. This is also the reason why most fastfood chains use orange together with red and yellow, for these colors indirectly makes us want to eat.

Seeing all these orange packaging on food somehow supports that logic, doesn't it? Well, Jollibee and Ronald McDonald both use red and yellow... but when you combine both colors, what do you get? Yes, orange!!! lol... it's just me rationalizing. xD

Aside from the pictorial of those products, I also took photo of several shades of orange using some of the art materials I have. They look orangey to me, or at least has a bit of orange in them. It's funny how I could mistakenly identify orange as red and vice versa. I sometimes even argue with mama about it, then she'd call me color blind. Welp, might be? xD

I couldn't go out recently, but I wanted to share some nature-related shots below which I took in the past...

It's the tomato from our garden and beautiful orange flowers in our city's plaza in front of the city hall. Of course, as a lover of sunrise and sunset, I'll share them as well.

It's sunrise photo I took by the beach in our city.

And here's the sunset with lovely tree silhouettes. This was in our city hall.

As I've mentioned in the beginning of this post, orange isn't my favorite color, so I don't really have any clothes or accessories in that color except for one shirt.

Pardon my bloodshot and sleepy eye... was too busy to sleep. Work ends late and I sometimes have to work early. But the culprit this time aside from work was gaming until past 3AM last night. No regrets, though.

It's the Haikyuu! shirt my Japanese manghud gave me before. She knows how crazy I am about Haikyuu!, so when the anime collaborated with UNIQLO in Japan, she bought one for me. I'm such a spoiled sister.

Ohh well... I better catch up with sleep. I got morning lessons every Saturday. See you around!

Sort:

YOu have beautiful photos of everything orange. :D

Thanks for posting in the ASEAN Hive Community.

I don't think I have much or any orange clothing either, but as a ginger guy, I am basically already orange, so I guess it would seem weird to also wear that color. I didn't realize you had Tang in the Philippines, gotta be the only country in SE Asia with a drink I remember from my childhood. The commercials always made a big deal about the fact the American astronauts drink Tang in space, haha.

We also buy orange tomatoes, mostly because the already ripe ones will become tomato sauce on the long ride back home from the market.

Hahaha... You'd be a walking tangerine then.. JK~
Yes, we have this brand in the Philippines, too. :)
We used to have some Kool-aid as well, though I don't see it as much.
Ohh.. haven't seen that commercial. Sounds interesting!

Orange tomatoes are delicious and juicy! We mostly have it in omelets! :)
