A couple days ago, mama requested papa and I to make a side table where she can store some stuff and put some of her books on in our living room. Well, she was planning to buy one, but given the space, it would be better to have it customized... so papa and I decided to team up and make on for her.
I've been meaning to re-paint and transform my room (will be in another post), so I have some paint available. In addition to that, we still have some leftover plywood, thus we just bought some wood slobs to complete the materials we need.
I decided to put my sofa bed in our living room and just sleep on the floor of my room. That's the reason why we had to make some adjustments as well. Here's how the side table look like in our living room now.
There's our backup Internet modem and some books on top. There's also a space below which mama can use for storage.
Now, let me show you how papa and I made this baby. Let's start with the materials. :)
We have some wood slobs, the paint I prepared for my room, and our leftover plywood.
Papa and I already have a design in mind and it was approved by mama (lol), so we just proceeded with the building process.
Despite having the materials we need to make the project, we actually don't have the right tools, so it's a struggle every time. We're going to buy some tools someday when we're able to save for it. haha We cut the slobs using this saw blade for metal. Yes, it's just the blade, so we wrapped it with an old pot holder. haha Papa and I took turns in cutting the slobs.
We needed four long ones, four medium ones and for short ones. We're using this for the frame and legs. :)
Next up is putting these slobs together to create a skeleton or frame for the table. :)
It was fun creating this with papa. Next, papa prepared the plywood and completed the rest of the table. Let me show you some progress shots. :)
We accept donation for tools to make more DIY in the future. hahaha (Also, you may notice some water bottles... we still don't have water until now, so we have to buy for our everyday use. T_T

Our table is complete. Papa completed the finals steps in making this table. And since the building phase is done, it's my turn! Time to paint this baby!!!

I finished the base paint first before having our dinner, so it'll dry after grabbing some munchies. <3
It's done... not! haha I wanted to add some details because it kind of look bare and a bit boring... so, let's enjoy some more! :D
And there you have it! The final form of our project. We left it outside the whole night to let it dry before actually putting it in its intended place.
Mama was so happy with it. Both papa and I are glad to make her smile and somehow spoil her with her DIY requests. She asked us to make some other stuff in the future. However, we need to gather some tools first before that. It'll make our DIY so much better.
