The Most Beautiful Butterfly Set Free

Chance Encounter

I was cutting my gardens this evening for the first time since last October. They had of course grown quite long, so it was an arduous task. The lawnmower alone was not up for the task, my strimmers would be required also.

It was while strimming the lawns that I found her. I had to go back into the shed for nylon rope for the strimmers and I spotted a cobweb and the most beautiful butterfly was stuck in it. The lawns would have to wait, I had a more important job to attend to. I had to free this beautiful little creature.

I love all animals and bugs and all lifeforms, but I especially love butterflies. They remind me of Granny and my daughter who are both in heaven and whenever I see one, memories and thoughts of them both flood through my mind.

So when I found this beautiful little thing in distress, I had to help her, so I gently removed her from the web and freed up her wings and legs as carefully as I could and brought her outside on the wall. She stayed there for ages and allowed me to get these close up photos and when she was ready she flew on.

I just noticed that my second photo is a little out of focus, so here is another photo I took of her sitting on the wall at the back of our garden.

And here is the first photo without any writing over it, arguably the nicest photo.

We also had a butterfly who spent the whole winter and some of Spring with us. She hibernated in our wardrobe and eventually woke up around early March and we let her fly out the window. It's a pretty damn smart idea if you ask me to hibernate for the Winter. I might try it next year!

Nice details on the wings buddy. They are cool creatures.

Thanks man, ya the detail is insane when you zoom in. So many human designs are inspired by nature.
