Eating at the Restaurant that Invented Sisig

in Eating Outyesterday (edited)

Lucia "Aling Lucing" Cunanan is the credited inventor of the modern sisig, a dish of pig ears and cheeks grilled on a sizzling plate. She introduced it from her restaurant in Angeles City in Pampanga. Last Saturday, when I attended a friend's birthday party, another guest friend asked me to eat with him at an Aling Lucing restaurant branch also in the city. He wanted to eat sisig to reminisce his time in Pampanga and also because he missed the food at the party due to his late arrival.

Apparently, based on this sign, the sisig in the resto is made of pig liver. And oh! The resto was established in the year of my birth.

This is the menu.

Other foodstuffs are also on sale inside.

Aside from the sisig, we also ordered pako salad. The "dip" is fermented rice, according to my friend.

There was also chicken ass (one portion was still remaining at the right side of the pic).

I ordered Coke while my friend had beer. I couldn't drink alcohol anymore as I've had a lot of rum Coke and Sprite vodka at the birthday party.

Emoji friends.

My trip back wouldn't be complete without coffee! This is a surprisingly delicious Spanish Latte from Dunkin'.

Dining with friends and having coffee while night driving is exhilarating. Happy to be alive!
