I had huge expectations for the new Switch, it is a fun console with fun games, but with terrible hardware.
It has an Nvidia integrated CPU that failed to be adopted in every other attempt to make a good portable device, it has only 4GB of RAM, and worse, originally Nintendo wanted half of that memory! Only because developers complained that Nintendo made it 4GB, and it is still barely enough to hold textures.
So for the new Switch I was hoping for, at least, a memory increase, so better textures could be used, but not even that....
What makes it even more disappointing is that the console is fun to play, it is portable and has good games, and a much better support than the previous Wii U, but why, Nintendo? Why such a terrible hardware?!?! And for $50 bucks more than the regular version! Not worth it to me.
I hope that, in the next console, Nintendo adopts an ARM architecture, which is what should have been used in their handheld consoles since the beginning, this would allow a much better performance and battery life.
Nintendo is probably the only company that profits from everything, from consoles to online services. Microsoft and Sony are known for selling their consoles under the manufacture cost so that they can profit from selling games and services, but Nintendo makes a bad console with bad hardware, charges full price, and wants us to pay $60 for almost 10 year old games.... I love their games but it is hard to be a fan, I feel more like a slave, a money printing machine for them.... Only consuming their products because they have a monopoly on their intellectual properties (first party titles)...
Makes me consider becoming a pirate....
