No, you still get 1 shot even if you have the perfect build. It's one of the things that makes the game so frustratingly delightful. It's worse once you get to endgame because then you lose xp when you die too. I've had some characters where I have been the same level for like a month because I come close to leveling, then I die five times.

I've never played the warrior, so I don't know too much about that. Lightning arrow pathfinder is a pretty easy play.
