Which provides better in-game value for the price - Level 1 Regular Foil versus Level 3 Gold Foil?

Today's #SplinterDebate focuses on the #FuriousChicken. I hope to see some feathers flying and hear some people clucking about what is better.

Most of us would gladly except a golden Furious Chicken if it was given to us.

Advice: Never turn down a gift!

But what if you had to spend your own money. Which single card provides better value for the price?

Different Game Scenarios

1. EQUALIZER

Splinterlands Equalizer.pngThe Initial Health of All Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.

With Equalizer, the advantage definitely goes to the Gold Foil. The health level of the Furious Chicken would be high enough to not die before Engage can come into play.

2. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE

splinterlands keep your distance.pngMonsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.

Advantage regular foil since gold foil cannot be played.

3. MELEE MAYHEM

splinterlands melee mayhem.pngMelee attack Monsters can attack from any position.

Advantage gold foil??? It might depend, because the gold foil version would be susceptible to Thorns or Retaliate.

4. UP CLOSE & PERSONAL

Splinterlands up close personal.pngOnly Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles.

Advantage gold foil because regular foil cannot be played.

5. OPPONENT HAS STRONG SNIPE TEAM

Advantage regular foil as it can be played in such a way to protect more valuable ranged and magic monsters.

6. OPPONENT HAS STRONG SNEAK TEAM

Draw in my opinion. Both will die at the same rate.

I would say that it would depend on the extra value earnt when playing the gold foil. You can always level up the standard to the same point, for all the pros you've given, for a cheaper initial outlay. You could also keep a single unlevelled card for the distance ruleset, which is actually advice I should take myself, now I've levelled mine up.

Over time, I guess the gold foil would pay for itself in the higher DEC earnings. Maybe you should get one of each and cover yourself for the distance.
