Splinterlands Meta Snapshot is alive

in Splinterlands4 years ago

It has taken me much more time than I expected but I have finally been able to deploy the application, and although it has some limitations, I am very happy for what has been achieved so far, much of the work is due to my son @rael5 who helped me a lot with the HTML and the whole frontend in general.

You can visit the application in this link:

How to use it

The first time the table is loaded it is filled with all the statistics of all the monster type cards and sorts them according to their use. In the upper part you can switch between the data of monsters or summoners and in the buttons above the table you can change the parameters to filter the content, the new table with the filtered content according to the selected parameters is generated by pressing the check button.

Some limitations

These last days have been a little frustrating, I have had multiple problems when deploying the application to the Heroku server and I have been trying many things to make it work, trying to install and uninstall modules, use different python distributions and different virtual environments but in the end I could not run the version of the program I have on my computer and I had to sacrifice part of the functionality I wanted to offer in this project, for example I have not managed to connect the site with the database and thus update it automatically, I also had to sacrifice other functionality that made a little more intuitive use of the table.

As I had to load the data even manually, I couldn't fill the database with bronze and silver league battles, and it's possible that I won't have them until next season, this is also because of the very low level in the cards used in silver league and that almost no "player" is in the bronze level.

This image show how was that magic moment of the deployment. When I saw this screen I literally jumped out of the joy all over the room

Of course, I'll keep working

I've enjoyed all this, I've learned a lot even from the times I make mistakes and so every day I'm learning better ways to make things work, now my goal is to add all that functionality I have from my computer to the website, so that you can send and receive data from the database, I must also work a little more on the appearance and how to consult the data, making it the more natural and intuitive possible.

In that respect I would like to ask you to help me by giving your opinion, please answer some of these questions:

  • How did you like the page?
  • How would you like the statistics to be displayed?
  • Have you found any mistakes?
  • Is there anything you don't like about the place?

Thank you very much for reading this post and don't hesitate to leave your comment. See you in the game.

Looks interesting :)

Really cool app. Without this I wouldn't know that Gremlin Blaster which used to be OP is now basically forgotten and discarded in battle.

Ahhhh! Darth! This is awesome!
It looks so good! Tell your son he's also awesome.

That totally sucks you've not figured out how to directly connect it to the website... yet. I know you will.😍

I popped around. Everything looks like it's working.

I would like to be able to see the list from HIGHEST to LOWEST winratio (after I put in the stats). Like maybe you're able to push the WINRATIO title at the top of the list and it re-orders it to Highest to Lowest, click again and it goes Lowest to Highest and one more time brings it back to how it originally was (by play rate).

Really great job on this!
