Yes, there is space to add at least another 8-12 panels, maybe more. May invest in more panels later in the year if the 30% tax credits stay in place for next year.

Roofs last typical length unless ripped off by high winds, lol. The solar panels will actually help that part last longer, as they shade the actual roof and reduce the wear from the sun damage.

While of course not hurricane proof, they do provide additional stability to the roof, making them more storm resistant. When the roof eventually does get replaced, they can be unplugged, removed, and put back on without too much extra effort. Our roof was replaced just a few years ago, so not a decision for us.

Oh okay, that is cool. It makes sense that they would kind of protect the roof too. I kind of wondered about that.
