I never eat candy bars, and as for candy, I eat that very rarely except for organic dark chocolate items. After years of not eating that crap, it no longer tastes good to me. Take M and M's for instance. I used to love them as a child but now they taste awful to me. I wonder if the flavor has changed? And with each bite I have this tiny thought "you are eating poison right now" that takes any joy right outta me.
So how did your Pavlova turn out? I used to make this. But the only ingredients were sugar, egg whites and a pinch of salt I think. I'd beat the whites with the salt in a mixer until they started to make soft peaks, then add the sugar very slowly, I think until the mixer started to spit, then fold the remaining sugar in gently. Something like that. It's been a good thirty years or more.
