Those are also those who farm rewards between 0-1, so it's not the ones with legacy and standing in the community. I guess I can add that to my selection process. What happens in a downvote, anyway? No payout at all for anyone? I never really thought about that.
As far as I know, both the curators and the author don't receive a reward. Reward goes back to the reward pool. So other curated content gets those rewards in a way.

Yes, that is the biggest stigma with the downvotes, people think that you are "stealing" their rewards. But those rewards are not theirs until the payout in the first place.
I'd consider it somewhat immoral to be able to make a benefit out if taking rewards away from someone else. I guess I got drawn into the narrative that some notorious extractors spread.Giving the reward back to the pool by downvoting makes a lot more sense. Thanks for explaining!
