The PowerWriting Prompt No. 1:
“Write about a mysterious letter that arrives at your doorstep, filled with cryptic symbols and an urgent message.”

My Story is below:

Johnny smiled. Knocking meant his order arrived. Outside, he glanced at the packages. Instead, the deliveryman shoved a black envelope into his midsection.

Puzzled, he read the tattooed, crimson note. "NO REST. UNTIL YOU CONFESS."

He retreated inside, shaking, while unlocking the secretary. Grabbing the heart-shaped purse, he burned it.

Tsk, tsk! Johnny, what did you do? Contrary to the instruction on the letter, he burned the purse, destroying evidence, meaning he's not ready to 'confess'. Will he ever be at peace? 😄

Intriguing indeed. I sincerely hope that the young lady didn't come to a brutal end of her life. But that may well be what happened. Profilers have identified individuals who harm others and keep a souvenir of their victims to relish and relive the horrendous act. But someone knows something, else the letter would not have arrived.

Now Johnny truly will be haunted by the "unknown" letter writer. Peace will not be still in his life. So as it is with others with secrets of this magnitude.

I'm still waiting for a response from @powerclub whether this community is exclusively for the Indian members on Hive. I was intrigued by the prompt, though and decided to participate.
