I don't think that someone on Hive burning HIVE or HBD is random, but on purpose. π€π€― For example, someone who accidentally published a post twice will burn the rewards of the duplicated post (usually the one with the lower total rewards) to make it "fair for the community". π₯π€―π€

I think that the Hive author who has accidentally double-posted has a better "defense" if they are able to edit the post title and content (and description) a few minutes after they realized the error (especially for Hive accounts that are already a few weeks old that get autovotes, such that the post can no longer be deleted because of the positive votes). π€π§ββοΈπ€
