Food Photo Collection by @tegoshei (JULY EDITION)

in Foodies Bee Hive4 years ago

It's that time of month again when I'm going to share a collection of food photography I took. These are some of the food we shared in our house. They might be very ordinary, simple or some might be more special than others. Well, there are also some experimental dishes that either my mama or papa cooked.

If you missed the June edition, feel free to check it out HERE.

Let's now get started with the July edition... so sit back, relax and get ready to crave for some delicious dishes. hahaha

This dish is called Tinolang Manok or Chicken tinola. It's a kind of Filipino stew that is healthy, cheap and easy to make. There are several versions of this dish and in our case, we use moringa leaves, chayote and ginger to complement the chicken. I guess putting these three ingredients in a soup tastes really good and somehow refreshing. I personally like putting some ginger in my soup as it is soothing for my throat.

Here is mama's experimental dish. It's ginataang ampalaya with chorizo bilbao and pork. It's mainly bitter melon or bitter gourd cooked in coconut milk. The bitterness of the bitter gourd actually went well with the coconut milk which was quite unexpected. Also, adding chorizo bilbao (dry pork sausage) gave it a unique and a bit sweet taste. Maybe, if it was just pork, it wouldn't be as delicious. Anyway, it was another interesting way to enjoy bitter gourd. :)

One of my faves, I must say.. It's sautéed green beans with pork. It's just a simple dish, but I actually like it a lot. It's funny how I didn't like eating green beans when I was younger, but now, I like it so much. I guess, cooking this one is a simple process, but the preparation can be a bit tiresome unless you buy already cut green beans. haha Anyway, other versions of this dish are just dry and some of them use ground meat instead of small sliced ones. You might have noticed that we usually have pork in our food... well, if you're saving money and still want to eat pork, this is the best way to do it. Just cut them into small sizes and include them in various dishes. haha

I personally don't eat fish anymore because somehow my body rejects it, but I think this fried milk fish is beautiful. My parents love eating fish. I used to enjoy them as well, but now... I can only enjoy watching people munching on them.

If you have leftover rice or some pork sausages or tocino from the night before, the best way not to waste and enjoy them is to make it into fried rice. :) Usually, papa would just add a bit of used oil and egg on our fried rice, but during this time, we also had some leftover tocino and pork sausage, so yeah... into the fried rice you go. Yes, I couldn't eat the fish from the previous picture, but I'm satisfied with just this fried rice for lunch. haha

Trying to make use of the remaining pork and chorizo bilbao in our fridge, we decided to have pancit miki. :) Pancit miki can be cooked dry as well, but I like it with soup. I prefer the flat noodle one, though. Unfortunately, it wasn't available in the local market nearby, so we used the round one instead. Put in some cabbage, bell pepper, onion, garlic and chayote... you can then enjoy this dish much better! My mama didn't really cook this dish in the past, but one time, my uncle cooked this and served us. We definitely enjoyed it, so from then on, mama created her own version of this dish. :)

I guess that's all I have in my gallery. I didn't take a lot of photos this month and sometimes, we're too busy or too lazy to cook, so we just either but already cooked meals or just open some canned food. Anyway, home-cooked meals are still the best. Even simple ones are enough to make my stomach and my heart happy. :) Food is life, after all!

I hope you enjoyed this month edition of my food photography! Until next time! (^_^)/
