What's up foodies?
I'm really very happy because after more than a year, I got the chance to eat some of my favorite foods.
As you know, my parents are really good at cooking, so we don't really have to eat out that much. However, there are some stuff that my parents can't cook, or at least haven't really tried cooking.
So yesterday, my father had to take care of some documents. He's a retired policeman and there are some stuff he needed to do in the office, so he went to Cebu City for the first time in a while. By the way, we live in the next city going south.
Since he got the chance to go there, I asked him if he could drop by SM Seaside and buy us some food from Tokyo Joe and from Leona.
Tokyo Joe is a fast food chain which serves Japanese food. I can't eat seafood since I'm allergic, but I love their beef teriyaki as well as their beef misono so much. Mama is also craving for some of their shrimp tempura.
Since they don't have a bento box available, mama just ordered an extra rice. Japanese rice is much fluffier and tastier than our regular ones. So we really had a blast!
Their shrimp tempura looked pale, but mama said it was delicious. She also mentioned that it was worth it since there were lots of shrimp meat in it.
These two are definitely my favorites! I had beef misono, the one on the right for lunch. It's a donburi dish. Donburi means rice-bowl dish, so there's rice and the viand is placed on top of it.
Later that night, I had beef teriyaki-don for dinner. We just microwaved it so I could enjoy it while it's hot. I'm really glad to have these two after more than a year. haha
Well, that's not all!
We also asked papa to drop by Leona, my and my mama's favorite cake shop!
I honestly just wanted a slice, but mama told papa to buy a whole cake. Anyway, we can keep them for several days. :) What cake is it?
It's blueberry cheesecake, y'all! <3 Ahh... it's a piece of heaven, I tell you! Well, I also love Leona's carrot cake, but I was able to have it a few times last year when my guy best friend brought me some... so, we decided to get this instead. It was papa's first time to try this particular cake from Leona and he and his sweet tooth love it!
We just had a slice yesterday and it was so good! I might as well have another slice for dessert later tonight. :)
I'm not sure when papa is going out to the next city again, but it would be awesome if I could have these delicious stuff at least once every month or two. haha
I'll try making a no-bake cheesecake one of these days! I may be very lazy in terms of cooking, but I like making desserts, so we'll see. :)
