Healthy Lunch at Chez Ablaze

I'm at it again! Preaching about salads. You should try them for lunch a few times a week. Ditch that wrap, baguette, white bread, brown bread or any kind of bread. Go for the leafy greens and other vegetables and some cheeses and meats if you're not vegan or vegetarian.

The thing about bread is that it's no good for you whatsoever. There's no nutritional goodness in it, so every now and again, give it a miss and I opt for a salad instead. Us humans should not really be eating bread, particularly the highly processed versions that fill the shelves of most supermarkets.

We're pretty good for the greens in our house, so there's always some vegetables knocking around in the fridge. So whenever I do feel like making a salad for lunch, I just open up the fridge and see what's in there and rustle something up. I'm pretty good at rustling something up. I make it as I go and usually end up with something tasty.

So next time you're tempted to have a sandwich for lunch, why not change things up and make yourself a salad instead.

Variety is the spice of life. Isn't that what they say. There's so much that you can do with a salad and you will feel good after eating it too, unlike bread which gives you that bloated uncomfortable feeling in your stomach.

I do think that getting into healthy habits like eating salads or going for morning walks are good overall, as you don't feel the years slipping by and I notice those with the most longevity eat well, exercise often and avoid stress. I'm going to do my best to do all three going forward. Of course I'll have take aways and eat sweet stuff along the way, but everything in moderation as they say.

There will inevitably come a time in everyone's life where exercise becomes more difficult, so while we're young and fit we should make the most of it and our older selves will be thankful in later life.

Right, I'm off to order a pizza, drink 8 cans of Guinness and have a full black forest gateaux for desert while binge watching my favourite TV show for 7 hours.....

Tough that bread is mostly my go to food 😭😂😂

I think it is for loads of people man, and I eat it most days myself, but it's no good for us!

Greens are life.... so I concur with you that starchy foods should be ditched and let the salads reign😁.
