Is automatic voting a curse or is this an essential service on platforms like Hive and Steem?

Greetings friends!

We had been used to automatic upvoting on Steem. After the birth of Hive and later Hard Forks we have faced several difficulties to cast vote and receive vote automatically. Manual voting is not always possible and also automatic upvoting has its limitation as we deprive the eligible content from the reward that it could have gained if automatic voting would have not been in existence.

What is your opinion on this matter?

Is automatic voting a curse or is this an essential service on platforms like Hive and Steem?

  • It's a curse.

  • It's highly beneficial for the content creators as well as for the curators.

Kind of shitty to do, but definitely is a valuable tool.

I believe that every Hive member has all the rights to choose how their account is used (as long as they don't intentionally and recklessly hurt anybody).

Besides, if automatic voting apps are not supported, anybody (with high amounts of HP that makes it worth the effort) could just (secretly) create and use their own autovoting app for themselves to curate posts that are very likely to be trending, which would further harm users with low HP.
