what is a text ad.

Text ad, is basically a one liner (25 to 30 characters), showcasing the offer to the user.
Catchy lines are generally used.

how do you create a text ad?

Setting up is very simple.

In the Traffic exchanges, Go to the text ads section.

add the text & the website URL (you can assign the URL of a lead capture page, if you are building your list)
and click on Add button to add it

then you assign a few credits / text impressions to it.

Some Traffic exchange's do manual check before approving the text ads, that fine as long as you follows the rules.

Traffic exchanges also support conversion of credits to text impressions.

Are text ads effective

Yes and No.

The text ad message needs to be eye catching.
The position of the text ads matter. Most of the times they are located in odd places.
The conversion rate also depends on the views it generates.
Text ads should be tracked to get better results.
Text ads without any click-through is waste of resources.

Things to be aware of

Text ad exchanges like google adwords have a better way to create ads
A title and 2/3 lines describing the opportunity
The ads has a better changes of been viewed and clicked, as more information is provided.
In Google search, text ads are displayed on the top of the searches.

Leadsleap has credit ads, similar to text ads, where you can define catchy titles, give a meaningful description, add images etc
Its a much better version of text ads.
They are effective and also have a good click-through rate.

To summarise,
text ads is a good resource to promote your opportunity or product.
Click-through rate may differ based on where it is positioned.
lead capture pages with text ads are also effective to some extend for building lists.

@imfarhad - I personally believe that text ads is classic ads type that is not just a simple sentence of wordings. Title and description should be well considered with art of writing for text ads. Text ads need to get attention from the reader for our advertise product and service then encourage them to take action whether to leave or click through your link. With limited number of wording/copy on text ads, we need to be creative in writing the text ads.

Some advertising platforms still use the text ads but the big name like Google Adsense will be no longer support the text ads which will end service in March this year. Low click through rate from text ads is the main result of Google to terminate text ads on its platform. Display Ads/Image Ads will be replaced text ads on Google Platform then.
