You can earn credits by viewing the emails sent by other members.
Once you have a good amount of credits, you can email your opportunity
So a list builder, allows members to send, recieve and earn credits for viewing the emails.
Based on the membership and credits, you can send emails to all the members.
There is also a limit on how many and when you can send it.

why it is called viral

The member can promote and build a downline within the list builder website.
It is viral as it includes all the members your downline signup.
This again depends on the membership levels or upgrades you have in the viral builders

It is better to build your list, instead of building a downline in the list builder.
As this way you are not dependant on the list building website. In cases where they close doors and you loose the downline you built.

Things to note about viral list builder.

• It takes time to build credits, as you will have to view other members emails.

• You can use your credits based on the frequency and the membership level.
  examples:
  one email every 24 hours
  free members can send every 72 hours
  gold members can send every 48 hours

• Based on the membership you can only sent emails to other members in the groups defined.
  examples:
  free members can send only to free members
  gold members can send to free and gold members

Some sites, provide codes to active members as rewards to encourage and improve click rates. They also do referral contests, No of emails read etc.

• Mailbox will be flooded with emails.
  But now-a-days, the sites provide in-built email inboxes, which store the emails. You just need to login to the site and read them to earn credits

• Not all viral list builders have good click-through rate.
  You should monitor the click-through rates on your emails/campaigns to gauge what works and what doesn't
  Also, make sure that the click-through you get is real and not from bots

• Viral list builders also have downline builders where you can add your referral ids.
